SBGN009 arriving tomorrow, any strap or bracelet suggestions?

SBGN009 arriving tomorrow, any strap or bracelet suggestions?

Hi all,

I joined a month or so ago to ask about Grand Seiko suggestions, and am now awaiting my 3rd GS watch, the SBGN009. See attached photo of the watch (although it won't arrive with me until tomorrow).

It comes on the original GS bracelet, however I typically don't wear the original bracelets or straps and leave them in the box with the papers.

Would anyone be willing to recommend me some aftermarket straps, and/or bracelets? Budget up to £100 pre-owned ideally, but equally happy to pay less and don't mind using AliEx if people can recommend specific sellers and models!

I also have an SBGP013 I got recently, and something that surprised me was how the dial appears almost black under most light, with the blue sunburst only really being obvious in direct sunlight or under fluorescent lighting. I'm looking forward to seeing how the dial on this reacts to different light :)

Thanks!

SuperOcean 42mm in yellow, would you sell as-is or service first?

Hi all,

I've got a 2022 Breitling SuperOcean 42mm in yellow. Lovely thing but I'm done with automatic watches after having too many issues (I now only have Japanese HAQ models - Grand Seiko and Citizen Chronomaster).

Problem is my Breitling has helicopter rotor when winding, and winding is a bit stiff. So it needs a service, Breitling quoted £525.

Would you sell the watch as-is, full transparency, or spend the £525 and then sell it on?

Condition is otherwise fine over all, it's boxed and is on My Breitling (yes, it's legit).

If the service wasn't so expensive for such a common fault I'd have it done, but I don't want to spend £525 if it won't generate an extra £525 value, and I'm doubtful it would.

Any input appreciated, thanks!

Recommendations for larger used Grand Seikos? 40mm and larger.

Hi all!

I'm looking to add a Grand Seiko to my collection. Don't mind if quartz or automatic. Only thing is I really don't get on with watches under 40mm.

Looking to buy used, happy to import from Japan. Just after model recommendations really, as all the ones I seem to find, other than more recent dive models, are 37/38mm.

Looking at under £2000, and under £1500 would be even better 😂

Thanks for reading and any suggestions 👍

Stock OS or alternative for GB/GBA/SNES on RG CubeXX?

Hi all,

Expecting my CubeXX to arrive today. I've downloaded the latest version of Knulli (Scarab) in advance, as most reviews seem to suggest it is the best 'all rounder' OS.

I saw a few reviews that didn't like the stock OS. However I then realised they were probably using earlier releases. The current firmware on the Anbernic website is 1.0.6.

Given I'll be mainly using GB / GBC / GBA and SNES, will the stock firmware, updated to the latest version, be fine?

Or is it worth using a 3rd party OS even though I'll only be using this for a limited range of games?

All I really want to do is play games from those systems - with perhaps shaders and filters to give a pixel grid on the handheld consoles, and CRT on the SNES.

Thanks all :)
