Looking for advice/experiences.

My 3-year-old female Shihpoo (19 lbs) recently had her first UTI and completed 10 days of antibiotics. At the initial visit, my vet noted she has an inverted/involuted vulva. Since then, her vulva area has become red and occasionally scabby. She was prescribed Animax ointment about a week ago, but I haven’t seen any improvement.

My vet is now recommending a vulvoplasty. Has anyone been through this with their dog? Would you get a second opinion first, request a different treatment, or move forward with the surgery?

I’d appreciate any experiences or advice.
