Can any store employee explain BOPIS a bit to me?

I was at AE a couple days ago. I rarely shop in store always online. So we found a few things we liked and I picked them all out on my app and they came out significantly cheaper!! The cashier said they could price match the actual item price but NOT the sale discount. It was over $35 difference.

So I just said what if I did a BOPIS order? She became annoyed and said it all depends on how long it takes to ship it sometimes it says it’ll take 48 hour and others it’ll be ready in just a couple hours. I pointed to the stack of clothing (3 !! Items) and said it’s already done, how long does it take on your end with the “paperwork” part of it all. Again, she went on about how it can totally vary so much….

Anyways I went back a bit later to get 2 of 3 items and waiting for the 3rd one to come into the store except it was already literally in the store.

I feel like the cashier was just trying to be difficult towards me but maybe one of you guys can shed some light on the situation like how bopis order work once placed by customer.

Thanks for your time!

White pants opinion

I want to buy one pair of lightweight white pants to lounge and to wear out without looking too much like pj bottoms. …

does anyone have either of these pairs and love/hate them either way? (Happiest wide leg vs. jersey pj pant)?

also, for anyone who has either pair (or both) what’s the see thru factor like?

🤍

MTL floorset questions

I’m a new MTL and new to the company (5 months) I got hired during peak holiday so my floorset training was odd and my store team lead went out on maternity leave. So it was a weird start, anyways this is my 4 floorset I’ve been leading and I just can never finish 100% by end of Tuesday. I go over with time expectations and build times with my crew, granted it’s usually me plus 2/3 others but never more than 4 including me.

I feel like I’m just not getting the hang of the floorset I can finish like 100% by end it the night Tuesday?

Do any other MTL have this problem and or advice

Are employees meant to honor a price if it’s their mistake?

Went to american eagle with my bf a few days ago to return some things I had bought online and after doing my return me and him walked around a bit. In the clearance area there was one of the circular racks with a bunch of shirts and a little red placard on the top that read “$8.99”. While walking around the rack I saw about five of the same shirt which is one I had been eyeing online (the shirt in the attached photo) on said rack and was excited because it was cheaper. Went I went to check out the shirt rung up as $14.99 so I mentioned how I got it from the $8.99 rack and she said that it was probably put in the wrong place by another customer so I brought up the fact there was five of the same shirt on the wrong rack. She had my bf show her what we were talking about, then she removed them from the rack and they refused to honor the price. I know it’s common policy at a lot of places that if the employees put something in the wrong spot then they have to honor that price but idk if american eagle has that same policy so if any employees could please let me know, please and thank you 🫶

Price Tag and Final Price Difference

So I just went to American Eagle to get some jeans and the tag said $49.95 but then when the cashier rang them up they were $69.95, how does that make sense?

Edit: I’m in America, not Canada

Update: Went back and they refunded me the overpayment!

discount not accurate

I’ve seen a few other people make similar posts to this but isn’t this just false advertising? 40% off + 35% off should be 75% off but I only get 61% off, almost every single item in my bag is incorrectly discounted. I wish I had the money to sue because this actually feels sue worthy.

Buying online employee

I was just wondering if as an employee, could I buy clothes online still without ordering it in store? Is there a rule against buying clothes on your own? I know we can’t use our discounts but it’s more convenient for me to order it as I wanted something for an event.

Summer 3

Does anyone know what discounts we’re gonna get for summer 3 floorset? I want to get the new offline halter tops but don’t wanna waste a 60 if we’re gonna get a set discount.

Off campus line

Hey guys I really want to order some of the off campus clothes but I know American eagle is notorious lately for hoodies that let off soo much fluff and discolouration. Has anyone ordered the sweaters? How’s the quality?

App says 30% off but still only shows 25% in my cart?

This ALWYAS happens and it’s why I always avoid shopping here anymore. The app says 30% off but anything I add to my cart still says 25% off. I even clicked the little thing where it takes you to all the 30% off items and it still shows 25%.

Why are people still shopping here?

Genuine question, not rage bait. From all of the posts that I read here, it seems that the quality has gone to crap, customer service is nonexistent, non-stop shipping issues, social media/marketing is tone deaf, and company policies are basically there to piss people off (ie return policy/tag issues). And style-wise it’s still the same issues, too cropped, too baggy, sizing is all over the place, and on and on.

So genuinely curious, what is keeping people spending money here?
