IIITH always kept the level of Apti high in their admission test but this year the Apti was so easy.
Everyone scored good marks in Apti and the people who prepared for GATE, got very good overall marks coz they scored good in Core CS too.
Having tougher Apti attracted students good in Maths and Aptitude, which was seen in placements. Since its far more important in placement and DSA is a easier for people with good math and apti.
The crowd this year at IIITH is going to be comparable to mid/upcoming IIT and top NITs.
Moreover, The new director is not very much in favour of stundets focussing on placements, he wants more focus on research.
Also the TnP officer thing is yet to be resolved.
