Decent but not super good. Just started a 1-2 years ago, probably can reach a high level soon though due to piano experience. Teacher has gotten multiple kids into All-State and said it's possible but I gotta work hard in some areas

Better ROI overall?? (apps wise)

Should I invest in piano because I like it more and it's something I'm better at? Or does the bassoon rarity and less competition (piano is literally most common instrument EC) outweigh this?

hey guys rising sophomore who previously does AMCs and another STEM Olympiad, how long does it take to get good at usaco and what can I realistically achieve? is plat unrealistic now?

I’m stressing about college apps. My graduating class only has about 50 kids, and our school explicitly states on the school profile that they don't rank.

I have a 3.92 unweighted GPA. I'm definitely NOT in the top 10% because about 15% of my class has a perfect 4.0.

Will colleges penalize me for not having an official rank or the "top 10%" title, even though a 3.92 is still near the top for my school?

Hey guys rising sophmore here, I am planning on taking the AMC 10 with the goal of getting the top 5%. How hard is this and what would I actually do? I am new to math competitions, I did AMC 8 in like 8th grade and got like a score of 17. I am currently taking precalculus over the summer and learn concepts quickly but I really suck when it comes to abstract problem solving or when I am given practically no direction in how to solve the problem.

guys my team just got shortlist. however I didn’t lead the team but I still had an impactful role. how prestigious is this and how will colleges see this?

Any of you guys know if this would be considered presitigous at MIT? Our team won this year. Is it like ISEF prestigious?

How much are my chances screwed if I didn’t meet 3.9+??? I got a high 3.8 UW.

Competitive private school, only yearlong grades are factored in gpa (so I can only get 21 maximum As)and school doesn’t accept DE either to boost it. I got 2 b+ and 3 A- in freshman year, everything after that was all As.
