How do manufacturing companies in India handle sudden manpower shortages?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to understand how manufacturing companies in India deal with sudden manpower shortages.

In automotive and engineering plants, production demand can increase overnight because of new orders, absenteeism, or tight delivery schedules. Finding skilled workers at short notice is often difficult.

We work with skilled manpower for roles such as MIG welders, fitters, assembly operators, buffing, grinding, tapping/drilling, and PDC operators, so we’ve seen this challenge firsthand.

I’m curious:
How does your company manage sudden manpower requirements?
Do you rely on in-house hiring, staffing agencies, or contract manpower suppliers?
What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced while scaling production quickly?
I’d love to hear experiences from plant managers, HR professionals, and production teams. Thanks!

Realized a weird problem: people lose money just because they don’t track bills properly.
Started using a simple system (send bills on WhatsApp → auto store + reminders).
Curious if others face this too, or is it just me?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.

People don’t really lose bills.

They lose money.

- Missed return windows

- Expired warranties

- Refunds never claimed

Not because they don’t have the bill — but because it’s scattered (email, WhatsApp, paper) and they don’t find it when it actually matters.

I’m working on something called Bill Buddy around this idea.

Not just storing bills, but:

- Reminding you before warranty/return deadlines

- Making sure you don’t miss refunds

- Helping you actually recover money

Also trying to keep it low-effort:

- Auto-fetch from email

- Forward from WhatsApp

- Simple scan for physical bills

Still very early — validating if this problem is big enough or if I’m overthinking it.

Would genuinely appreciate honest feedback:

- Is this a real problem for you?

- How do you currently manage bills/warranties?

- Would you actually use something like this?

Also open to connecting with people interested in building in this space.

I ran into a simple but frustrating problem — when you actually need a bill for a warranty claim, you can’t find it.

Some bills are in email, some on WhatsApp, some are physical… completely scattered.

So I started building Bill Buddy — a platform to store and manage all bills in one place.

Current stage:

- Basic landing page ready

- Initial validation from real users

- Working on the next phase

Looking to connect with someone who:

- Understands tech (app/web development) OR

- Has experience in scaling consumer products

Not just a “co-founder” title — looking for someone serious about building from scratch.

If this sounds interesting, let’s connect.
