I hate people being called "tourist" for calling out problematic shit in a fandom

Oh. My. God.

I got multiple examples that urk my nerve.

  1. Calling out the UNHINGED fan service and getting this response. Like dude I'm so sorry I said I can't watch certain animes cus I don't like when the fan service is 90% of the story 🫩 and don't get me started on isekais or male "romance" stories (*cough* rent a gf *cough*)

  2. VTUBER SPACES. There is vtubers who are chi and just play games and do their stuff but when u say you don't like vtubers who avatars are lolicons and they cater to pedophiles ur larping... 😒

  3. Gaming spaces when u acknowledge that calling someone the hard er or saying ur gonna rape their mom in voice chat cus u lost in COD isn't normal. Please get off the game. And directly being a women saying this sucks cus then male gamers will come in saying shit like "well this space wasn't even made for you. You're trying to change our space"... It's not good "your" space is doing that with or without female gamers

Y'all get the point tho. Seriously criticism don't make you a larper, tourist, etc. You can criticize media you like 💀

I hate media that you can tell the writer is not apart of the marginalized group the story is about

(The picture is unrelated)

Now before I get comments like this... Obviously you can write about communities you aren't a part of. Thats not my problem. I hate when I can TELL the writer isn't a part of the group cus of the flaws in how they are writing these groups. Some examples:

  1. Euphoria. Big offender on multiple parts. He cannot write women doing anything sexual without it being degrading or over sexualizing. Just male gazey. Also this recent season of euphoria every time white characters say a slur I cringe cus they are so unnecessary and u can tell NOBODY black was on the writing room.

  2. A lot of popular yaoi. Writing gay stories isn't bad but a lot of straight female writers write yaoi the same way men make lesbian porn. It's NOT for queer people it's for straight fetishizers. Massive example is the yaoi jinx. If you know you know.

  3. A lot of teen rom com's from the 90s and 2000s. A lot of them are great but you can tell a man made it whenever we get into the "How could this muscular jock ever like a little old glasses wearing nerdy virgin like me 🥺 uwu"

There is more examples but y'all get the jist.
