Leaking copper pipe leading to Steam valve [Lelit Mara X]
Hi everybody
I’ve had an issue with my Lelit Mara X (PL62X-EUCW, purchased 27.11.2025) for about a month now: once the machine reaches operating temperature, it starts whistling. After opening up the machine, I found that small water droplets are leaking from the fitting between the copper pipe and the steam valve (on top of the boiler, where the pipe leads to the steam wand).
What I’ve done so far:
• Tightened the union nut (17mm) with a wrench – leak persists (fine water beads at the connection)
• Opened the connection and inspected the thread: it appears to be a soldered joint (dark, somewhat uneven solder point right below the nut), rather than a pure flare or PTFE-tape-sealed fitting
Any ideas how to fix? I attached some photos.
