UK Fragrance friends, where do you test your niche perfumes?!

I am new to fragrances and there are sooo many niche (to me) fragrances that aren’t available in common UK stores (Boots, Space NK, Sephora).

Where are UK fragrance fans sampling the rarer scents? Are there any shops that sell this kind of thing? I am based in London :)

Is it a case of getting into buying decants? If so, are there trusted UK sites for this?

Edit: Added that I am in London

Sushi grade salmon in Hackney?

Anyone know where to find sushi grade salmon for sale in Hackney? The usual supermarkets don't do it.

SOLVED: Seems like Fin + Flounder on Broadway Market is the way to go! And it’s just down the road from me :D Will give them a ring ahead of time to make sure they have some in stock. Thanks everyone!

A question about the concierge in council flats

This is my first time renting in a council flat and it has been awesome to discover that we have a concierge on duty from about 5pm to 1am daily.

My question is: what are the specifics of their role? I would assume it’s different to a front desk/reception/maintenance role considering the hours.

Is it to do with security? I sometimes see him completing “rounds” but not sure what they’re for and am a little embarrassed to ask as it feels like it might come across as rude.

I’ve lived in other parts of London but the concierge role seems unique to council flats in Hackney and other parts of NE London.

Hello! I am considering applying for the masters in documentary arts at UCT and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this course?

Or if anyone has any thoughts on the Centre for Film and Media Studies? I have heard UCT massively varies depending on the department.

Hoping for a course that mixes academic theory with practical skills. Would be great to walk away and feel like I could practically work on a film set.

I am OBSESSED with the smell of the Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser with Kale, Spinach and Green Tea.

See it here: https://www.youthtothepeople.com/skincare/cleansers/superfood-cleanser/810834030087.html

YTTP describes it as a "fresh, clean, herbaceous scent". I have tried other green tea perfumes and they don't quite hit in the same way - I don't think it has much of an actual "tea" note.

I would describe it as being like freshly cut grass meets cucumber meets a wheatgrass smoothie haha. Super fresh and awake.

A quick Google search said other people have described it as:

Key Scent Profile & Features:

  • Fresh & Earthy: It has a light, "verdant" scent reminiscent of a fresh vegetable garden.
  • Not Overpowering: The scent is generally described as subtle and refreshing, not overpowering.
  • Natural Aroma: Users often describe the smell as "healthy" or like a "salad on the face" in a pleasant way.

Anyone got any suggestions for me?
