Hello! I am looking to upgrade from my current builder-grade white paint for my upstairs. The problem is my entire fist floor is the same flat white color, and I’m not sure how to transition to the color upstairs across the staircase.

Currently thinking of starting the color on the left wall looking up the final set of stairs, as well as the bannister half wall, so you can only see it when you crest the first set of stairs and round the corner. Am I crazy or is there a better way to do it? Somewhat concerned it will look unfinished.

Beginner/DIYer here with a repair question (0 experience). Been watching as many YouTube videos as I can but I’m struggling trying to plan how to repair this corner at my ceiling. The gap is about 1/4 and the tape is clearly peeling away the length of the wall, it looks like caulk was used previously at the top of the corners instead of tape all the way around?

Thinking I may need to add in all/partial corner bead that goes to the ceiling and retape the top three sides. Any advice would be appreciated (even if that advice is to call a pro).
