Ceiling help new build
This is the ceiling that they attempted to fix. We closed but haven’t moved in yet. How to fix this? I don’t want them to do a temporary solution and we have to pay more down the line. How does this look?

First time drywalling. I have a few joints that are damaged from the screw flaring out the corner. How should I handle this prior to mudding? Also welcome overall thoughts on the install as a first timer
First time trying spackling. Cable channels ripped off the top layer of sheetrock pretty bad. Honestly looks like straight ass to me after the first coat. Should I continue more coats or will this half to be redone ? I have extra sheetrock if I need to just cut it out and redo it. I didnt see any of these lines or bubble yesterday when I did the first coat but they are pretty prominent today. Any feedback is appreciated & i can take whatever shit you give me for my work.
Hi everyone, I’m in the middle of renovating a house and most of the drywall is already down, so I figured this might be the right time to consider drywall shadow gaps.
I’ve been seeing this look a lot more over the past 1–2 years and really like the clean, modern finish. For those who have used them or installed them:
I attached a picture of the look I’m going for. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I’ve done drywall diy for a while now, definitely not pro, but I’ve had pros follow me without any complaints, anyway I’m working on this ceiling project and I found a weird spot before I applied the mud. It looked like it had gotten wet or something, so I went to cut out the surface and repair it, when I cut it out, there was tape underneath, and below that it was like epoxy. Has anyone seen this before? It was new to me.
Purchased new construction a few months ago, noticed gray circles all over the drywall throughout the basement. Concentrated in a crawlspace under the stairwell. But also found a small concentration in a closet across the room. No odors, spots are gray, smooth, and does not wipe away with dry cloth.
Edit:
Sorry first photo the flash didn’t come on but similar size gray circles found in separate closet, that look like the ones one the second photo.
Can I skim over this or does all the drywall need to be replaced? If I skim over it do I need to apply something to the bare sheet rock first? The paint was bubbled up and as I scraped it peeled down to the sheet rock.
Recently we had a leak in the bathtub drain and had to cut some of the drywall out. There still seems to be some mold residue in the drywall. I have used the anti mold spray, but still notice a musty smell. This drywall would be in our air exchanger. I really don’t want to remove more drywall. Is there anyway I can scrape this off and vacuum it up or paint over it?
Thanks in advance!
Just moved into an old house that was somewhat recently (within the last 10 to 20 years) renovated into apartments. I truly cannot tell if the walls are plaster or drywall. It looks somewhat like drywall, but i cant tell if the jagged edges are a landlord special cut, or if it’s just plaster being plaster. I was planning on hanging shelves, but unsure if I’ll do that now that the walls are potentially plaster.
I was in the shower and slipped and dumbly grabbed the shower rod. It had toggle bolts so made two of these holes on each end. How can I fix this and put the shower rod back in the same place?
Just moved into my home and wanted to take the wallpaper off so I could prep and paint the walls. Started peeling the wallpaper in multiple areas and what looks like plaster has started coming off with it. I have also found mould in the top corner of the room and next to the mould it looks like plaster is bulging off the walls.
Is there anything I can do myself to fix these issues or am I best biting the bullet and getting a professional??
I recently had my wall heater removed and replaced with central air. I left the hole open bc my wife would like me to turn it into a broom/cleaning cupboard. How hard can it be, right? Of course, now the question is: How??? So I have some of my puzzle points below. Please correct or redirect me if you think I am missing something!
I figure drywall on the near side of the wall and the cupboard door on the other. To install the drywall, I think I need to add a stud on the left, and maybe some horizontal pieces too? Then how do I achieve the “orange peel” finish to match the rest of the wall?
I’m also thinking plywood framing for the interior to make it neat and the same texture for painting. Should I add a sheet behind the drywall to put screw/hooks in for hanging the broom, etc? How would I best attach that? And how do I cover/protect the wire on the right?
The doors. Should I buy a pre-fab cupboard door? Double doors? Build it myself out of…more plywood?
Oh, and don’t forget #4) The old gas pipe. It has been capped and sealed and I’m not planning to use it again. Should I just…lay down some plywood on top of it to make the cupboard floor? And on the door side (far side in pictures) how do I get drywall into that little slot without taking off the whole baseboard? Or should it just be a little slip of wood that I can use to support the floor?
I’m usually a jump in, plan later DIYer but I’ve not really done a project that will be this prominently visible before so I want to have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing this time 😅 any help is appreciated!
I'm a finisher and I hate following a mudrunner and picking angles.
Is there some type of head I can buy that perfectly fits a three wall corner and makes it clean?
Anybody have experience with this?
Got my garage finished, and I asked for level 3 finish. The builder had hung the drywall and taped, did one lousy coat of mud. I hired another company to mud to level 3, prime and paint. Is this acceptable based on what you would expect for level 3?
Wanted to see what people think a reasonable quote for this damage is?
Had a disconnected unused electrical box above my TV that was an eyesore to look at. Decided to take matters into my own hands & got a diy kit, mudded & sanded, thought it looked good. Primed & painted & this was the result. Is this salvageable in any way? Or should I just start over
Did two coats of easy 20 and just wet sanded primer painted it since I had to open that wall for an ac pipe that caused I leak in my living room ceiling can I do a few passes of all purpose compound . Any tips. Tried to do this as temporary solution since I got a kid walking all over
