Ceiling prep - texture advice needed

I'm planning on filling the large holes with 5 minute mud, but I wasn't sure how to handle the rest of the patched area.

I'm not looking for perfection, but I wanted to reduce how badly the patch stands out, and how to recreate that texture.

Note: I'm guessing the previous owners had water intrusion, but whatever causes the issue had been fixed and there's no mold issue or anything. It's just cosmetic. Also, as much as I hate the texture I have no interest skim coating the whole ceiling.

How long before I can tape off trim so I can paint the wall

I'm putting my final topcoat of emerald UTE on today. How long of a dry/cure does it need before I can safely use Yellow Frog tape?

2nd coat of bin necessary?

I was originally planning on doing a full second coat due to uneven coverage, but I wanted get some opinion from those more experienced to see if that's actually necessary.

Project:

I'm using the Bin shellac on new pine trim to block tannins and for some interior doors that had an overly powdery/bad factory prime coat.

I'm using Emerald UTE for my topcoats.

My question:

Am I likely to get a better result if I do a full 2nd coat of shellac, or should I just touch up the areas that have bad coverage?

Worth priming factory primed doors?

We recently had an addition built. The new trim is unfinished pine, and the doors are factory primed. My plan tomorrow is to use Bin shellac primer on the trim, and use Emerald urethane for the topcoats.

Will I have better results priming the doors with the Bin as well? Or is the factory prime good enough?

How long has the Arctic Sea Ice Forum (ASIF) been down?

I haven't tried visiting since the beginning of the week, but I was sad to see that it's been down the last day or two. That's really unfortunate timing given that the melting season is switching into high gear as we're approaching maximum insolation.

Have any of you ASIF regulars or lurkers moved to another site in the meantime?

Submission statement: ASIF is a community of posters interested in the state of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and other collapse related topics.
