Why Maka does not want me to fold here?

Why Maka does not want me to fold here?

As the title say, i am 1 tile away from tenpai if i discard the 4p, but i assumed front and left lord are in tenpai (turns out right and front are, but left get in tenpai the next round).

My thought process is i am 1st place, 2 pp are probably in tenpai and i am 1/2 tiles away from tenpai with a 1 han hand which force me to call riichi to be valid, i know i am seat wind but in my mind it is not worth it.

Am i been to influenced by the master of the cowardly fist or maka is pushing for seat wind?

P.s. i know it is not 90/10 but even 47 to 10 feels like a lot.

Front have not changed hand since 9s has been discarded but right did, i was not expecting him to be in tenpai to be fair but west it is just safe soo why they do not like it?

Is pairs worth the price?

I am Italian and currently in Japan with a working/holidays visa, my plan it is to test and see if i could actually live here, i downloaded pairs as i was told it was the most "serious"app ( i am not the guy for ONS, tried, not for me) it is worth to pay the money? And would it be disrespectul/deceiving to be on the app if i do not know yet if i am planning to stay in Japan for long term?

Do you actually like the ending?

I've watched dr.stone since it came out , always super posotive respond first 2 season 9/10 and from there on 8/10 (alway good, just gets a but repetitive ofc) but the last season was honestly... underwelming.

Do not misunderstand me, i know why the had to rush the rocket part and fair enought, me my self i do not want to spend 5 episode on a rocket, but to me it is judt the whole "why man" thing.

This creature is soo intelligent, yet never said anything other then "you wanna die", they had it with no oxigen on the earth and instead of talking it activated, they meet for the first time and he "trick them" and most importantly, they literally say they "overestimated humanity" yet they waited 4k years on the moon for humanity to reach them.

I understand for them 4kyears it is not a lot, but if you reach the point to say you overestimated humanity and just leave, you must be thinkijg this before, and if soo why wait?

I understand time for them might be different but it never say soo abd why they have never tried to actually communicate instead of repeating the same phrase?

Reached expert

As the title said today i reached expert, i started playing on the 19th of march of this year and basically 4 minths later, after 404 games i reached expert.

I did only east 4 games due to the little amount of time i have to play.

As you can see no yakuman soo far, tried few times, mostrly 13orphans, 3 concealet triplets, 3 big dragon and all green.

I wonder if it is a good progess time or not.

I did not knew how to play mahjong before this.

I feel like lately I've started to fold more (my first 100 games i had 33% 4th)when my hand as little value or i feel like the other person hand is high value and at the same time started to try to reach tenpai when exhausted draw was closed (before when i was folding i was not trying to reach tenpai at all).

Feedback are appreacciated, i would say my average vote is B+.

And was wondering if any of you knew a good video to learn how to calculate value, i tend to riichi toitoi and chiitoi to add extra value, but sometimes is does not matter and i scare people to play safer.

And is this a good deal in %? And what about the win%? I have the feeling i win a decent amount of hands, but with a low value (average 6k maybe)

Thank you soo much!

Edit:when i am in east seat i tend to push even when i know i should fold, is it worth since i play just east rounds? (Like i have the feeling if i were to play south games i would fold if it was the first seat wind and push if it was the second)

Where to rent a house for a month is Japan

Hi to everyone I am in Japan with a W/H visa and would like to rent a furnished apartment for a month in hokkaido (if possible in asahikawa) i would need that as a "base" to travel the whole hokkaido with a rent car and to register a residence and get a phone number.

After the month I will travel some more before stopping then in Tokyo for 5/6 months for work, and i would need to rent an apartment there as well, i just do not want to wait until october (when i will be in Tokyo) to get a phone number and be registered at the health insurance.

I see some option online like Best estate jp, but they want long term rather then short term.

I would also ask what you guys think about "Tokyo Beta" that would be where i am planning to get the rental in Tokyo, the houses looks pretty good, cheap and some are furnished, of course would be great to find something on my own and not shared house, but i could not find any where a good site for foreigners renting apartment.

Little disclaimer my Japanese is not great, i cannot read properly yet and my talking is just a little better.

Is it really that bad?

I started playing mahjong 2 months ago.

Maybe i am just coping with my self, but.

I was 3rd place and had not a great hand at the start, thought about just folding and hoping left/right lords deal into each other, but then i saw a miracle i thought if i go for all triplets and can ron to right lord i can get second, soo i pon (maka didn't like the first pon as you can see but after, it commit to it).

I know that this probably it is not a good play and should just fold for 3rd place, i got lucky and someone kan and made my first triplet become a dora, but it is THAT bad? Or it is worth the risk?

For context, front lord never won a hand and never had a yaku, was clearly a new player, soo he could have easily dealt in me/someone else, making my plan to fold usless.

I feel like due to the context it might have been the good idea, but i am just a newbie soo.

Edit: I just realized all triplets it is just 2 han, not sure why but during the game i was thinking 3 han. I understand now why chiitoi with a close hand would have been much better, thx all!!
