Oops! (also, advice please!)
Great news! But also sad news :(
I made a post about 2.5 months ago about this diamond I got as an upgrade for my wife. Good news is that the ring is almost done and I should be receiving it in the next month. The CAD is a tiny bit off as the center stone is 8.02ct at 18.7x10.89x6.56mm. It is set in platinum and is fully custom. I wanted to get her something timeless and special. I don’t want anybody else having the same ring as her. The ring is as unique as she is. One of a kind and I cherish every day that I get to live with her as my person.
The bad news (which really isn’t bad news) is that she won’t be able to wear the ring for a while. Like more than a year from now. But, it’s because we got pregnant! She came and visited me for my birthday a few weeks ago and next thing we knew there were two lines on her pregnancy test. Her fingers are already swelling so instead of this anniversary, I think I’ll be waiting for her swelling to gone down and we’ve had time to settle into our new lives as parents. I’ll find the first good moment to get this to her because she totally deserves it. Probably our next anniversary, instead of this upcoming one. I dunno, I’m giddy already and want to get this to her ASAP but I know I should wait until it fits her lol.
(Advice needed!) The only thing I’m wondering is, should I “propose” again? I don’t want to just hand it to her or gift it to her, I want the experience to be special. But I don’t know if it’s inappropriate to propose again when we’re already married. I know ultimately it’s my relationship and I can do what I want, but I don’t know what the best way to give this to her is.
Sorry to gush, but I am so so proud of her for doing such a good job with everything. I’m currently away (military life) but we’ll be back together in about 3 months. I’m sad that I can’t be with her for her first trimester but at least I’ll be there for her for a little bit more than the second half. She’s my everything and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when I give this to her.
