Recently Moved Back to Yangon – Looking to Make New Friends

Hey everyone,

I recently moved back to Yangon and I'm looking to meet new people and build a new social circle.

I’m a huge watch enthusiast, whether it’s modern pieces, vintage finds, or just talking brands, movements, and styles, that’s probably my main hobby. Always down to meet other watch lovers, go check out watches, or just talk horology over coffee.

Outside of that:

  • Gym / fitness
  • Football (soccer) — always up for a game or watching matches
  • Coffee spots, cafes, and exploring new food places
  • Movies, gaming, and casual hangouts

If you’re into watches or just looking to meet new people in Yangon, feel free to reach out. Would be great to connect, grab coffee, or even put together a small watch/chat or football group.

Cheers

VPN recommendations

Looking for a good free VPN for desktop use. Mainly need it for stable speeds, browsing, Claude and general daily use.

Would prefer something:

  • Free or very cheap
  • Works well in Myanmar
  • Good speed and stable connection
  • Available for Windows desktop
  • Not too many ads or data limits

Any recommendations or experiences with VPNs that currently work well in Myanmar?

Any Burmese/Myanmar nationals here recently get an Australian visa?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to ask if there are any people from Myanmar in this group who have recently applied for or received an Australian visa.

I studied my Bachelor’s degree in Australia and I’m currently on a TR/485 visa, but it’s ending soon so I’ll be going back to Myanmar. My plan was to hopefully return in around 2 years to do my Master’s degree.

Lately I’ve been hearing mixed things and was wondering if Australia is still granting visas normally to Myanmar nationals or if things have become much harder/limited recently.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone with recent experience — student visas, visitor visas, anything really. Just trying to understand the current situation and whether returning later for studies is still realistic.

Thanks a lot 🙏

Moving back to Yangon — looking for football/social groups

Hey everyone,

I’m moving back to Yangon soon after spending a few years abroad and wanted to meet new people and get involved in some social activities.

I’ve always loved playing football/soccer, whether it’s casual kickabouts, futsal, weekend games, or social leagues. I’d love to join a friendly group that plays regularly and is open to new people.

Also open to other social events too — cafés, gym groups, networking, hiking, food spots, or just chill hangouts. Mainly just looking to build a good circle and meet interesting people around Yangon.

If anyone knows any groups, chats, clubs, or communities I could join, feel free to comment or DM me. Cheers!

Hey everyone,

I'm an international student leaving Australia soon and my Victorian licence expires in June next year. The problem is I won't be back in Australia for at least 5 years.

Is there any way to keep my Australian driver's licence valid while living overseas long-term? Can I renew it remotely or does it just lapse?

Any advice appreciated!
