What bedtime habit sometimes keeps you awake, but you still don’t want to give it up?

For me, it’s listening to an audiobook. I started doing it because it stops my mind from wandering, but sometimes I get too interested in the story and stay awake longer than I planned. Even so, going to bed in complete silence now feels strange.

Some things feel completely ordinary during the day, but different once it gets late and everything is quiet. What do you enjoy doing most late at night?

Does going to bed late automatically mean your sleep schedule is bad?

Back in college, I usually went to bed around 2am and woke up around 10. Sometimes it was 3 or 4am, but I still got 7–8 hours most nights.

When I heard people talk about going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 6am, it made me wonder if my schedule was really that bad. But if I was getting enough sleep, felt okay during the day, and it wasn’t getting in the way of school or daily life, I eventually stopped worrying so much about the exact timing.

I know an earlier schedule can be more convenient, but is sleeping from 2am to 10am necessarily bad? Or do the amount of sleep you get and how you feel during the day matter more?

Is there anyone like me who only feels that the time truly belongs to themselves when they're scrolling on their phone right before bed every day?

I work during the day, and there’s always something to deal with when I get home. The only time that actually feels like mine is when I’m lying in bed scrolling on my phone.I know I’d probably be better off putting my phone down earlier, but sometimes I just don’t want the day to end yet. I’ll tell myself I’m only going to scroll for a few minutes, then suddenly an hour has gone by.Does anyone else feel the same way?
