Anyone who truly appreciates perfumes would never even talk about that. Fragrances aren't always meant to be strong.

Majority of the people in this sub are only chasing performance and know almost nothing about perfumes.

People here will say, "better performance is just a bonus". No, all you care about is performance. Your first question is always, "how long does it last?" no one asks anything about the scent.

It's always, "lasts long = good. Doesn't last long = bad."

I see comments in this forum where people talk about how modern fragrances seem watered down. I do agree with that to a certain level but I think right now we're seeing some really potent colognes. Sure a lot of vintage colognes were super strong but then in the 2000s that strength was dialed back down. We got releases such as CK One, Gucci Pour homme 2, Bvlgari Aqva, and so many more. As far as I remember 10 years ago we had much more variety in the designer world and fragrances were relatively lighter compared to today. Today we see Elixir, Absolu, EDPs, Extraits, most of which weren't super common back then.

Now what I see happening is a rise in heavy vanilla and spices. There are fragrances out there that last for days and they've become relatively easy to get. You can walk into a Sephora and you have 20 vanilla bombs just sitting on their shelves.

I may be wrong and this is not to argue over niche or designers. This is just a trend that I've noticed especially within the Designer and Clone category but I also see Niche fragrances going somewhat in the same direction (obviously not as much).

Compared to 2017 now in 2026 we have stronger perfumes and sure back in 1970 we might have had beast mode fragrances but in the past 10 years now is probably the time where fragrances are at their strongest and have been post covid.

Please stop over spraying, especially if you think it'll make it last longer. It doesn't. All it does it waste juice. Carry a 5ml travel bottle and freshen up with 2 sprays on the shirt. Have a nice scent bubble around you but please don't walk into a room and fill it up with your perfume.

Idk why some people insist on filling a room up. It's pretty rude to others and doesn't make you look cooler. It's just an odd thing to do.

I love fragrances but I don't like fragrances invading my personal space. If I'm near you and you smell good, great, if you're 10 feet away please don't project cologne onto me cause I can't even tell who's wearing that cologne.

I've tried layering many times using many different types of scent profiles and strengths. I even tried doing some research on what would be a good match.

My most recent try was yesterday using YSL babycat and Tf Oud Wood.

In my experience layering is a huge fail, 1 fragrance always disappears. It never mixes the way influencers and some people claim it does.

After failing multiple times I decided to apply 2 fragrances to separate points on my body so that it can mix in the air around me but even that doesn't work. You either smell 1 or the other, it's never in harmony because for some reason they just don't mix.

I tried doing 1 spray of Althair under my shirt with Oud wood on my neck and I would either detect Althair or Oud wood, never anything mixed. Not sure what other people smell but it seems like a waste.

If anyone knows a solution to this, do let me know but as far as I know. It. Does. Not. Work.

Is there any layering combo that I should try?

I have a bottle but I wanna get 1 more. I got mine from shopforever but they don't have it anymore

I wanna get a dupe of either one of these. Has anyone tried the original tuxedo and a dupe? I do have a babycat sample but I'm looking to get a clone as I won't be using it too much anyways. Winters are coming so I need solid recommendations. I'm in karachi so hopefully there's something available here.

So I am arriving in Hanoi this Sunday. I have booked an airbnb for 27 nights and the host has agreed to register me with the local police during my entire stay.

I saw another airbnb which looks nice and would like to stay there for 1 night.

I also plan on visiting other places in hanoi and staying there for a night or 2.

Since I am traveling for 27 days, I booked 1 airbnb as a base so I can keep all my belongings there as I travel around.

I want to know if it's possible to be registered at multiple places at the same time. Since I'll be registered to 1 airbnb for 27 days will I be able to stay at different hotels or airbnbs while I travel?

There is one airbnb which is right next to my current airbnb and since I really like the design I want to stay there for 1 night and have booked it for 1 night.

I am extremely confused about this registration law and don't want to do anything where it can be harmful to my trip.

I am a foreigner and my gf is Vietnamese, we are planning on staying at an airbnb but we saw a law regarding foreigners and locals both needing to register or declare the stay. I know it's the hosts responsibility and as I've contacted a few hosts they have told me that they can register me but not my gf since she's a local.

We will be staying in Hanoi and prefer staying at vinhomes oceanpark.

Can anyone recommend me a legally registered airbnb host that I can contact or what can be done in this situation?

I've never smelt it but I'm thinking of getting a decant or a bottle.

My signature scent is Dior homme cologne and I use amouage purpose 50 on special occasions.

Would love to hear your thoughts on African leather.

I don't want anything similar to TF tuscan leather.

To give some context, she's not a fan of perfume and mostly never wears any. She's a 1 spray type of girl if any. She has used ch good girl and did like it but prefers gucci bloom.

Her taste generally revolves around something floral but nothing overly sweet.

I was just talking to her and she told me that she wants me to surprise her with something that she can use during our intimate moments and date nights etc. Nothing strong.

My signature scent has been John Varvatos Artisan (orange bottle) for over a decade and she adores that scent too. Lately she's been using Artisan a lot.

So far in my cart I've added, Gucci bloom, John varvatos artisan pure and Gucci flora gorgeous jasmine. I might remove Gucci Flora G J and replace it with Maison Margiela Bubble Bath.

I need to add 1 or 2 more to my cart. Suggest me something that's intimate and seductive but not overly sweet or over bearing. Also something unique.

I've been considering Chanel Chance eau tendre, Margiela bubble bath, Margiela lazy sunday morning, Chanel coco mademoiselle, Prada paradox, Dior feve deliciouse and Gris Dior.

Personally, I've been using Dior homme cologne (lemonade) a lot this year and it's become my new signature scent. I've also been using amouage purpose 50 occasionally.

Please give me your suggestions as I'd be blind buying these. I'm very well aware what artisan pure smells like, otherwise I have never really smelt a lot of womens fragrances.

Just received my decants of both of them today since I wanted to try what the hype is all about. Lattafa dynasty is a nice tea scent especially for the price. It has a very real smelling tea note and overall is a nice fragrance, just not my favourite.

Rayhaan terra on the other hand is a bit disappointing. I expected it to blow my mind but it didn't. I get a very basic spicy vanilla scent that's not bad but kinda in the same ballpark as Afnan 9pm night out. Not something I'd wanna wear or recommend to anyone looking for fragrances. For the people who enjoy 9pm night out, this is great, but for those who don't stay far away from this.

I also own a full bottle of lattafa liam grey which I dont enjoy either. Remove the spiciness and vanilla from liam and you get dynasty. Remove the tea from liam and you get terra.

Very disappointed by the reviews online, luckily I just got decants, rather than full bottles. I do see myself using dynasty way more than terra but I use dior homme cologne (lemonade) as a signature scent and neither of them will replace it. Not even close to replacing it.

Stop getting yourself scammed in trying to save money. You ask if the bottles are real or fake and just assume that the juice inside is authentic too. Real empty bottles can be refilled, some are refillable and some get refilled using syringes. Shady sellers often refill them with clones and people who haven't used the real fragrance before can't tell if it's fake or not.

I almost fell for a similar scam 2 weeks ago. The bottle was authentic but the fragrance inside was a clone. I knew only because I've used that fragrance multiple times in my life.

Only buy from reputable retailers and stop trusting these random sellers online. Yes it will cost more but at least you won't lose money to a scam.

If you can't afford a fragrance at retail then wait till it's offered at discounters. Save up if you need to or find alternatives within your budget.

Only buy from unknown sellers if you've been using that particular fragrance for a while. Make sure you meet them somewhere safe and try it out before you pay them. Never buy anything from such sellers that you haven't used or smelt before.
