Repurposed HDD — USB-C hub chiller.
I never thought I’d live to see the day when I’d have to think about cooling a USB-C hub.
The HDD stand solved the issue with the external monitor randomly disconnecting.))))

F10 ICM accelerations
As for the background: for the last 3 years, I have been unsuccessfully trying to fix a random “vibration” and a “hard” driver’s side — the left side of the car.
Car: 2015 535DX + DD + EDC.
All mechanical parts I could think of have been replaced or disassembled. The car does not have any errors in ISTA, and all adaptations/startups were performed without any issues.
Last guess: ICM or VDM unit failure, or maybe wiring?
I tried logging accelerations with BimmerLink.
The lateral acceleration is really confusing me: it is always around -0.25 on the driver’s side, and the graph looks completely different compared with the other two graphs.
Blue and green: vehicle acceleration + longitudinal acceleration.
Orange: lateral acceleration.
Does anybody have any thoughts?
F10 G374 Front brakes upgrade
After I smoked my 348/345 brake setup, I was at a crossroads: repair the existing setup or upgrade it.
The old brakes were perfect for daily driving—very smooth and relatively lightweight. However, mountain roads destroyed them fairly quickly.
For the upgrade, I initially considered M5 brakes, but the complete kit turned out to be quite expensive and somewhat overkill for a stock 535d xDrive.
After doing some research, I decided to go with 374 mm calipers from the G-Series and brake discs from the F01 760i.
For anyone considering the same upgrade, here is the complete list of OEM parts:
- Brake discs: 34116789543 / 34116789544
- Dust shields: 34116775269 / 34116775270 (These require a minor modification to clear the calipers)
- Calipers: 34116891303 / 34116891304 (M Performance blue version.)
- Pads: 34106888459
- Spacers: 4x6mm
! - Also, do not forget to code the car afterward to ensure proper DSC operation.
