Is he going to be Medium Long haired?

I adopted my baby boy 8 weeks ago. He is now 17 weeks old. He has lost all of his baby fuzz by now but his tummy is still super fuzzy, the fur on his chest and flanks is way longer, he has pretty prominent ear floofs and even behind his ears the fur is longer than usual. He is also BIG. 5 pounds and 30+ inches (2.35 kg and 80 cm).

So I am wondering. Could he actually be developing a medium long coat? Does anyone have experience with it?

Hi. I'm new. Let me introduce my looooooong baby

This is Nimbus.

He is a 17 week old kitten perfectly loooooooong splooting across a 1 meter (39.4 inch) window perch. He is 2.3 kg (5 pound) heavy and 78 cm (30.7 inches) long.

I also learned today that he is not in fact a domestic shorthair but will most likely grow up to be medium long haired.

He gon be loooooooooong

Meet my giant baby

So 7 weeks ago my heart was stolen and I adopted a little 9 week old kitten as a companion for my 2 year old boy and girl. He was just an itty bitty thing and we all were immediately in love.

Now he's 16 weeks old and holy shit has he grown. At his young age he is a whopping 2.23kg and 76/78 cm long including tail. He's almost as big as my 2 year old girl... Judt still a lanky babyfaced guy. Now I'm thinking of getting a dna test to see which breeds he is a mix of

Let me introduce, Pumpkin and Boo

As I just learned what a Halloween Cat combo is... I now feel the need to present, for your consideration... My very own version.

Pumpkin and Boo came to me from a shelter in Hungary. They are good friends, dream kitties and absolutely quirky (Yes Pumpkins ear is permanently flipped)

Progress is being made.

So this little Fella is now 14 weeks old. He's been living with us for 4 weeks now and it's going splendidly.

Him and his 2 big siblings have fallen in love instantly but recently even my Black Princess has started to actively play with im instead of just being his space to calm down and co-sleep with.

Also as he is only 14 weeks he is not a big snugglebug yet because that would require him to sit still for longer than 3 seconds. But over the past 2 days I managed to sneakily move him onto my chest when he was snoozing and he just absolutely melted into me for like 10 / 15 minutes at a time, purring, deep breathing and stretching/rubbing all over me.

He's also an absolute Unit of a kitten having almost crossed the 2kg threshold at just 14 weeks and still being a slim boi.

I could honestly not be happier about this development.

Nimbus had a rough day it seems

After all the playing and mischief he's done today it seems Nimbus is tired and needs the remote to watch his show and a can of catnip to take the edge off

Does anyone else see either a Bat or a full on Nose and mouthprint of a cat on my kittens back?

So today I noticed this little light marking on my kittens neck and though it looks like a bat. But then when I took the picture I saw that he actually has a full nose and mouth print of a cat across half his back.

Now I need to know if I'm crazy or if anyone else sees it.

My little baby boy is growing up too fast.

He is only 13 weeks. He's almost as long as my pillow... Just over one and a half months ago he fit into the palm of my hand 😭😭😭

Remembering my most special Boy

This is Herkules.

I adopted him in 2023 from my best friends Aunt who couldn't care for him anymore. He was a true Torbie Boy and thus a true miracle cat. He loved his snacks, begging for pets and breaking into rooms with closed doors.

We lost him in March of this year to an unknown illness...

He holds a truly special place in my heart still and I am honored to have shared these 3 years with him.

Let me share my story

Hi,

My name is Jules and I judt want to share my story and the happy end it now seems to have 😊

For 3 years I had 2 big chunky Kitty boys (Black and white/grey tabby) who where my whole life. One of them however had a hip problem and quite severe arthritis leafing him to just not wanting to be active anymore. This frustrated my other boy who was still very playful and bored out of his mind. So I thought... Money is good, I have the space... Lets adopt my cat a cat... And thus, in september of last year, after a long journey from hungary, came Pumpkin (Orange cat in the pictures). The orange tabby love of my life with his flipped ear. Pumpkin had a growth removed from his ear when he was barely a year old and had to undergo very radical surgery that removed the entire inside of his ear making him deaf on that side and flipping his ear. He is an absolute sweetheart. The boys got along great and we were happy. That lasted about a week until both of my big boys suddenly came down with the calici virus. They weren't vaccinated (please don't come at me. I definitely learned my lesson) and I didn't think what Pumpkin could bring with him even tho he IS vaccinated.

It got bad. Really bad. 3 weeks we fought and fought with daily inhalation therapy and antibiotics for one of them because he got lesions in his mouth.

And we beat it. They got healthy again and I was SO relieved.

Then in November my black boy with his bad hip suddenly started limping severely and wasn't able to jump onto the bed anymore. I thought he needed new meds for his hip. So off to the vet we went to have him x rayed. The vet discovered 2 calcified kidneys. I had no choice but to let him go right there. He went in my arms. So suddenly my boys were only 2.

I thought I'd leave it at that but it became very clear very soon that we were missing a piece. So I thought and deliberated and from the same shelter in hungary, adopted Boo at the end of december. My silent black princess. Again, everything went great and everyone was happy. And then came the diarrhoea. My big boy first snd then the other two. No apparent causes. No worms, no sudden food changes... Nothing. But I was convinced it was the food somehow. Again 3 weeks of fighting until I had enough and switched their food to barf. And the diarrhoea instantly stopped... So I thought we were finally through it.

Until March. My big boy was a really big cat. 7kg and he wasn't morbidly obese. Just had a bit of a dad bod.

And all of a sudden I could see his ribs.

In the span of 2 months he had lost 2.5kg and looked absolutely horrible. He ate, drank and cleaned himself but he was lethargic. So off to the vet we went. Blood test, xray... The works... Everything came back clean. Except for one miss shapen kidney which looked more like a potato than a kidney bean. But the vet said since his labs were normal (only later found out he only did organ labs and not a full blood panel) he wasn't worried. So he got a basic anti inflammatory and we went home.

I watched him deteriorate for 2 more weeks before I called the vet home and we decided he had to be let go. I was devastated. And to this day don't know why but sm convinced he had cancer of some sort.

Just a few days later I noticed that Pumpkin had a HUGE swelling near his surgery site. So off to the vet we went, had the thing punctured and some of its content sent to the lab. Thank god just some inflammation which we got handled with basic anti inflammatory meds.

I had enough at this point and told myself that I was done with more cats. I had my two babies and that would be it.

Until I met an acquaintance who works for an animal rescue and who had a house full of pregnant cats and kittens. I went to visit her just for funsies and of course went to see the momma cats and kittens. And there I saw him. A little grey tabby boy, sprawled out on his back, sleeping without a care in the world (he still sleeps like that. See pics) . And as it turned out. He didn't have anyone interested in him yet.

I went home and mulled it over... A few days later he still had noone interested in him so... I said yes.

Of course it's never that easy because just as everything wss settled my boy Pumpkin managed to play a little hard and bust out 2 of his lover front teeth and internally break 2 more. So off to the vet we went again to have him get dental surgery (he is the best example of why health insurance for pets is important. He hasn't been here a year and already cost the insurance over 2000 bucks). But luckily he got through it like a champ and I didn't have to push the adoption back.

And so at the end of June our baby boy came home.

A little Nimbus.

I had thought of everything. A fenced off playpen for him to live in and get to know the big cats safely as they're both 2 already. I was so worried that it wouldn't work out.

But this little boy and my cats had other plans.

On the second day Nimbus and Pumpkin basically forced a meeting without the bars, immediately started playing and not even 48 hours in were sleeping all cuddled up. So on day 3 the play pen was removed and now we're living our best life. Boo is very happy because she isn't too playful and now is rid of the pressure to play with Pumpkin who has SO MUCH energy. Pumpkin is now able to tire himself out with Nimbus an Boo is the calming presence. We have also figured out the food situation and Nimbus is growing exactly like he should.

I hope I didn't bore you with this long story but I needed to share it somewhere. All that in barely 9 months is a lot.

I need to Share this absolute Joy

I just adopted this little Fella and I am so excited about it.

This is Nimbus. He is 10 weeks old and absolutely adorable.

I already have 2 older cats at home (both 2 years old) and so far it's going splendidly.

Also. Please don't come at me for adopting a single kitten. He was the runt of his litter and had no one was interested in him. The family who rescued his momma and her kittens needed the space as she has new rescues coming in so I took him.
