I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this but whenever South Africans come across each other online, they have to start using the most foul language like it's proof of citizenship.

I'm not a prude and I drop f-bombs as much as the next person but the "jou ma..." stuff and the n word for sew just dropped casually in situations where it's not even warranted.

The first words we try to teach foreigners are swear words as well. It makes me cringe.

Surely we're more than just that?

I've been dating someone long-term and he's cheap 😞

I understand that I can be overly generous and I'm not the best with money but I always have enough -this might be my cosmic luck.

He's an Aquarius and grew up with more resources than I did. I grew up lower-middle class and he grew up middle class.

It just irks me when he counts every last cent. He doesn't freely give gifts and always expects something in return when he does.

He thinks buying branded things is a waste when I think he's actually wasting money buying inferior products that will have to be replaced sooner or tastes like crap.

He's not generous with acts of service either. Every good deed needs to be reciprocated as well. It just seems like such a miserable way to live.

Hey, I have a friend who I can't seem to figure out.

He comes across as really mean but then fawns over me. His life seems extremely difficult based on what he tells me but makes no plans to change.

His responses don't always make sense and he is obsessed with conspiracy theories.

He's really sensitive so I don't want to scare him away as sometimes he'll view me asking questions as a personal attack and just retreat for days.

I'm neurodivergent and really direct so I always end up messing up with him somehow.

I've asked my other friend to go over our texts to tell me where I've gone wrong in certain situations and she can't make heads or tails of his behaviour either.

What's a respectful way to ask someone if they're autistic so that I can tailor my responses appropriately?

I (30F Sag) just reconnected with an old fling (37M Pisces) from 10 years ago.

We've been chatting and it seems his life has taken a strange turn.

I've been confiding in him and he's been confiding in me but he has this air of condescension in his replies which I think is unwarranted because he's not very well read and is heavily into conspiracy theories.

He also speaks in riddles which when I try to clarify, causes him to retreat and acts as though I was attacking him.

I posted a picture on my status and this was his response.

This is not a normal compliment right or is he just awkward?
