The BBC have eventually responded to my complaint and have added more to the article about Gavin’s situation.

It seems he is on a smart tariff, but only has a 1.5kWh battery (pointless!), therefore can’t shift his usage on to a lower rate.

If you only have an ASHP, no solar or batteries, what do you think would be the best energy tariff to be on? I think the main options are:

- Eon Next Pumped,

- Octopus Cosy,

- Octopus Agile (at least for the summer months),

- Some sort of fixed price deal.

Very open to other suggestions though.
