Imperial MBA (UK) or Melbourne MBA (Australia)

For an international student wanting to land a job and stay after graduation which is the better choice?

Imperial has the stronger brand but Australia seems to have easier immigration. Does the Imperial name make a real difference when job hunting?

  1. Were you able to find a job after graduating?
  2. How long did it take?
  3. Did you get a role in your previous industry or have to switch?
  4. If you’re an int’l student were you able to secure sponsorship or did you have to return home?

Do Online Management Consulting Applications Actually Work in the UAE?

Has anyone landed an entry-level management consulting role in the UAE without wasta or a referral? I’ve been applying online but my applications just sit as pending. Everyone I know in consulting here either got the role through someone’s introduction or went to a UAE university/target school. I studied at a Russell Group uni in the UK (not one of the recruiting targets) and I’ve got no connections in the UAE to lean on. So I’m genuinely wondering are these online postings real or has anyone actually gotten in through a normal hiring pipeline?

Hi all,

I’m currently looking into the NYUAD’s one-year MBA and had a few questions, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s part of the first cohort, knows someone from it, or has reliable insights:

  1. How did employment outcomes look for the first graduating class?

  2. How long did it take people to secure jobs (pre-graduation, within 3 months, longer)?

  3. Were most roles based in the UAE/MENA region or did people manage to place internationally?

  4. How challenging was it for international students in particular?

From what I’ve gathered, the programme emphasises strong regional connections and access to employers in MENA but there isn’t much transparent data yet compared to more established MBAs.

Also curious about whether the “newness” of the programme has had any impact on:

- employer recognition

- recruiting pipelines

- or overall outcomes

Would you say it’s worth considering for a 2026 intake given the cost, opportunity cost, and current job market?

Any candid perspectives would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I’m considering the Imperial College Business School MBA and wanted to get some honest perspectives from international students who’ve actually gone through it.

A few questions I’d appreciate your take on:

  1. How easy or difficult was it for you to secure a job after graduating?

  2. Roughly how long did it take you to land something (before graduation, within 3 months, longer)?

  3. Did you manage to stay in the UK or did you have to look elsewhere?

  4. How much did your background (industry, experience, etc.) affect outcomes?

I’m trying to understand what the experience actually feels like on the ground especially for internationals needing visa sponsorship.

Also, given:

- the high tuition (~£80k+)

- the cost of living in London (which seems to easily add another £20k+)

- and the current job market

would you still say the MBA is “worth it” if I’m planning to enrol around September 2026?

For context: I have ~5 years of experience in edtech, mainly in operations and analytics, and would likely target roles in , operations strategy, or consulting post-MBA.

Would really value any candid takes.

Thanks in advance!
