How do you know when an insurance settlement offer is actually fair?
Curious how people in Hawaii have handled this. If someone is injured in a car accident and the other driver’s insurance company starts offering money pretty quickly, how do you know whether the amount is reasonable?
Especially if the person is still treating and doesn’t know yet whether they’ll have longer-term problems.
Is it generally better to wait until treatment is finished before discussing a final settlement?
Not looking for a dollar figure, more interested in what people wish they had known before dealing with the insurance company.
