Passed in 85q’s

Took my NCLEX a couple of days ago and leading up to it I was truly overwhelmed by what everyone was describing this test was just sit through it and come out crying because it never got to the level of difficulty everyone else would talk about, so I thought surely I had done something wrong and that it shut down in 85questions bc I was dumb. 24hrs later my BON cleared me.
Here is my advice for those of you taking it.

Practice case studies I had like 5 or 6. Bootcamp structures them very similar to what is seen on the NCLEX.

Patient safety is obviously priority so if you don’t know a word don’t freak just break it down and ask “what keeps my patient safe?”

If something comes up and you have never heard of it and answer seems wrong but the others seem more wrong pick the one that feels the least wrong based on what you know.

Mark K literally talked about everything on the test I had. Like everything. Listen to lecture 1-12 at least one time and focus a couple of times on mark k’s electrolyte lecture and his dangerous values lecture because it helps with the case studies. They give you normal values but it’ll help you know what should mean something is wrong. Prioritization will also help understand some of the harder questions.

Nursing crusade video 1 towards the middle helps you breakdown questions in a way that I had never even thought about before and I used that strategy multiple times.

This is a mental test, take deep breaths close your eyes and re read the question when you feel like you don’t know something. I did that once and then the question made sense afterwards. Go in thinking you’ll get all 150 so that you have the mentality and endurance.

If you hit the 2hr mark and it asks if you need or want a break take it and go splash water on your face, take deep breaths, and drink COLD water to restart your nervous system.

Most importantly remember that you are prepared. For some reason this felt more straight forward than some of my nursing exams. You did nursing school this is just another test.
