Is it still possible to pass months after my graduation with only doing 100 qs a day?

I graduated March this year and Ive been on and off reviewing. I didn’t start doing bootcamp until July and I do some review on the notes once in a while. Do i need a schedule on how many hours i need to study and questions to practice? Or does doing practice questions enough?

Failed NCLEX at 89 questions — retesting in September. Looking for advice!

Hi everyone! I recently took my NCLEX-RN for the first time on August 15th and failed in 89 questions.

I know I wasn’t as consistent with studying as I should have been the first time, so I’m trying to approach my retake VERY differently. I’m currently waiting on my CPR and hoping to retest around September 30. Honestly, I’m choosing to look at failing my first attempt as a test of my faith rather than a failure of my future. I’m going into this retake with more prayer, more preparation, and a lot more trust in God.

I’m giving myself about 4 weeks to prepare this time and made a study calendar to keep myself accountable, which I’ve attached! My main resource will be NCLEX Bootcamp (which I used the last time and liked), with Mark K, NCLEX Crusade, and Dr. Sharon as supplements. I’ll also be working several days throughout September, so I’m trying to keep the schedule realistic.

For anyone who failed their first attempt and passed their second, I’d love to hear what worked for you!
What did you change the second time?
Did you use your CPR to change your study strategy?
Did you stick with the same QBank or switch?
How many questions were you doing per day?
Anything you wish you had done differently?

I’m disappointed, but I’m trying to use this as a reset and come back stronger. Any advice is appreciated!

Am I Cooked?

I just got this back from my 5th time taking the NCLEX. Of course I failed, but I didn’t think I did this horribly. And please don’t confuse me with that one troll person that was being weird, this is embarrassing enough. I’m doing all that I can to prepare for my next attempt in September. I’m doing Uworld, daily anki decks, archer CAT tests, in the process of looking for a tutor. It’s just extremely difficult to balance with my job as a daycare worker for neurodivergent students

passed at 85 on 2nd attempt! failed at 150 on 1st. AMA

hey everyone! found out i passed today after testing yesterday and shutting off at 85.

1st attempt: Uworld (stats were in favor of me passing) + Mark K + NCLEX Crusade + 45 min Crash Course NCLEX Review on youtube. really think testing anxiety got the best of me. left knowing i failed and cried and pulled an all nighter and cried even harder when i saw the failure email.

2nd attempt: Archer (5 RA: 4 VH + 1 H and question sets based on my weakest areas) + 1 Bootcamp RA (High) + a lot of Dr.Sharon + 2 hour Crash Course NCLEX review on youtube + 2 tutoring sessions w/ NurseMegRN (highly recommend + Mark K again. practiced breathing exercises and prayed a lot more.

both attempts i had a rationale notebook but the second attempt i was more intentional w/ my notes and reviewing content i had gaps in.

for those who are believers, i prayed A LOT. and was really heavy in my bible. that helped me calm down a lot. 🙏🏼🤍

please ASK ME ANYTHING, i want to help as many retakers as possible. i was struggling finding a bunch good success stories for 2nd try.

i start my residency in the ER in September ❤️. im praying for passes for everyone here!

Passed in 85 First Try!

I did my Nclex-RN yesterday at 8am, got an email from the CNO at 4am with my pass results! I only used Uworld, listened to Mark K lecture 12 and the acid-base imbalances + a few Dr. Sharon prioritization videos. Good luck everyone!

Failed my 2 attempt NCLEX RN

Hey guys. I found out today that I failed on my second attempt. I can’t stop crying because I thought I passed this second time around. I feel so disappointed in myself and a disappointment to my parents and boyfriend. They’ve been a great support don’t get me wrong. I don’t know what to do differently for my 3 time. I used Bootcamp my first time and I feel like it didn’t prepare me enough. The questions had to much detail so when I took the nclex the first time I was extremely thrown off guard. Second time I used UWorld and I like it honestly. I love how they break each day by system and the video lectures aren’t too long. And the question difficulty level goes harder and harder.
Any advice please ? I also purchased a study guide from Study by ally from TikTok.

Failed Nclex my first time what do I need to do?

This is my CPR, I took it on the 18th of this month and felt like I did great. I got shut off at 85 questions and majority of my test was case studies and SATA, I feel very discouraged considering I thought the harder the questions the better you were doing. I didn’t study that much and watch Mark K’s lecture 12 about 4 or 5 times before my test and on and off his other lectures for about 2 days.

Whats some advice you can give me? I had a Labor and delivery job on the line and now I feel like I don’t even want to do nursing.

Failed my first attempt and need some advice on if my score is really bad or where I can improve

Hey everyone, so I took my NCLEX on the 5th of this month and I am so upset that’s I failed cause i had great Uworld CAT exam scored with every one I took ended at 85, I also took my friends book camp assessments and got a high all only 4 of them. I think I stressed my self out to much and shot my self in the foot when I took it cause I was so nervous had an energy drink and no breakfast cause I had no appetite cause of my nerves. Anyways as soon as I saw it got past 85 everything got worse. Anyways I went to 150 and failed. I just got archers sure pass and have been working on its for the last couple of days and focusing on when I’m getting stuff wrong more and doing all the lessons. Any advise one what I can do to improve? Thank you so much

NCLEX PREPARATION-UWORLD OR BOOTCAMP

I am trying to prepare for the Nclex and need advice on the 2 listed study options. Asking your advice, because I have heard great things about both of them, but would prefer Uworld, which costs more. If you have experience with both, what do think the best option is? Thanks in advance.

What do you guys think?

I’ve done 595 questions of Qbank, 200 of readiness exams, I did around 1,850 questions on ATI BoardVitals, and I’ve listened to about half of the Mark K lectures.

Exam is next week.

Not sure what to do in these last few days besides 85Q daily and 2 readiness exams + write down topics and maybe do the NCSBN free practice questions?

I will be re listening to Mark K lecture 12.

Any advice? Btw ATI Boardvitals I had like 1 or 2 case studies, but bootcamp is like case study simulator lol.

Different PVT pop ups

I took my test yesterday 8/17 at 1, finished around 4ish and did the PVT around 6:30 after getting the confirmation email. Got the good pop up and refunded money within a couple hours. Settled my nerves and I should have just left it but instead I decided today I was going to do it again to reassure myself and I got the invalid payment pop up. Used correct info and everything. Anyways.. got all 150 questions and feel horrible. I haven’t been refunded yet but it’s only been like 20 minutes. I haven’t received any Pearson email with registration/payment confirmation.. losing my mind and can’t breathe. Just curious what I should go off of

3rd attempt of Nclex today

Hi everyone, I just wanted to be here to share my feelings with u guys.
I did my 3rd attempt today at 1pm and finished after 2.5 hours. It stopped at 85 question, I had 5 case studies and 2 small case studies. Some SATA questions.

For my first attempt, it stopped at 109. When the questions pass 85, I was super panic. My anxiety was over my critical thinking and at that moment I just wanted to leave the place. And I failed.

For my second attempt, I was doing pretty fast and I thought it’s not too hard and it stopped at 85. I thought I could pass at that time, but unfortunately I failed again.

So this time, even the test stopped at 85, I don’t feel excited about it because I know everything will happen. Even some people their question stopped at 9x, 10x and even to 150 they can still pass and u can still fail with 85.

Right now I don’t know what I can do, I feel like I couldn’t handle with failing this exam again.

Second attempt at nclex

Has anyone’s first attempt been similar to the second or even third attempt at the nclex? Have you had similar questions or completely different topics? I’m trying to breakdown if I should study related to my first attempt and cpr score or study everything again?!?!?

Failed my first try in 150, Passed my second in 85

Found a lot of inspiration on this Sub. Im free now :)

The biggest changes I made between tests was study platforms and stress management

I got kaplan as part of my schooling and used its qbanks and practice tests for the first exam. I didnt really get along with it that well. Particularly when it came to the rationals. Maybe its just a me thing but I felt kaplan was just explaining general nursing concepts in the rationals that didnt always explain why a given answer was right or wrong. I also just dont jive with the decision tree method, thats not how I organize things in my head and it felt very unnatural to me.

My first test was emotionally intense, and my anxiety was very high, especially watching the question counter climb higher and higher. My biggest regret was I didnt take the optional break because I was caving to my anxiety and just wanted it to be over. Was nauseous, stressed, and had an incredible sense of impending failure afterward. Sure enough it was right, i failed. I was a little crushed.

After I got done grieving my results, I decided I would give Uworld a try. I bought one month access and It instantly made more sense to me. studying came much easier with less frustration. In that month I cleared 75% of the q bank and my average was in the mid 70's by the end of the subscription (which was aug 6). After that I spent the next week listening to all 12 of the Mark K lectures (which i was able to find on a drive file thanks to someone on this sub), in order, twice leading up to my exam. I wish i used uworld the first time and I wish i knew about the mark lectures before my first try.

The other thing I did was learn to manage my anxiety. I knew immediately after my first test that I had made it harder than it was on myself. Everyday leading to my exam I practiced relaxing and finding an outlet for my anxiety. I mentally prepped for not just the test but the anxiety that would come it. The day before the test i didnt look at a single thing nursing related.

The day of my 2nd test couldnt have gone better. I was not nervous. I was not anxious. This is a little ridiculous but if I felt it creep in during I would literally push my chair away from my desk close my eyes and deep breath until it was gone. And I took my optional break. I left the building and I KNEW I had passed. NO stress waiting. NO nausea. And NO feelings of failure.
