PASSED IN 85Q!! 🩺✨🌷

PASSED IN 85Q!! 🩺✨🌷

As a long-time lurker of this subreddit, I’m so ecstatic to be able to finally post my PASS! ✨

I tested for 1hr and 15min. My test prep included Bootcamp and a little bit of ATI. If your school used ATI, just know they prepared you WELL. The NCLEX felt 10x easier and less specific than ATI. As for Bootcamp, I started late (about a week before the exam). I took 2 of the practice assessments and was scoring Very High as well as doing as many practice questions as I could.

You heard this all through nursing school, DON’T CHANGE YOUR ANSWERS! 80% of the practice questions I missed were because I changed my answer, which I made sure to not do on the NCLEX unless I was almost positive that I was wrong on the first pick.

Some topics that I remember:
- Autonomic dysreflexia
- Age appropriate toys
- Schizophrenia, ADHD, bipolar disorder (mania)
- High pressure vs. low pressure vent alarms & causes
- Airborne vs droplet vs contact precautions
- DKA
- Nitroglycerin vs. nitroprusside
- Uterine rupture
- Insulin peak, onset, and duration
- Urinary tract infection, AKI
- Myasthenia gravis
- Positioning for CVAD placement

Took NCLEX on 7/1, passed in 85!!!

Hi all! I took my NCLEX on 7/1 and I passed in 85 questions. I was feverishly reading this subreddit before my exam and I wanted to pass along how I prepared in case there’s someone doing the same. I prepared intensely for about 2 weeks, using Archer and Mark K lectures. I just did the q bank/CATs on Archer and went through each question afterwards to focus my studying better. I learn better by handwriting notes so I went through each Mark K lecture slowly and listened to the audios while taking my own notes. I cannot emphasize enough how instrumental Mark K was in my passing!!!! Truly, if you’re burnt out on studying and feeling defeated, try giving him a listen! I found the audio files and notes on Reddit. Give yourself study breaks, and know that you will NOT be able to remember everything. You’ve made it through nursing school and you’ll know more than you think!!! Also I got the “good” pop up about 20 minutes after my exam finished, and I found out on my application with the state that I passed before my NCLEX quick results were available (I’m in MA). Please feel free to ask any questions!! I’m proud of everyone who’s studying right now and I believe in you all!!!

Looking for free nclex qbanks

Hi everyone!

I'm currently preparing for my NCLEX, but I'm on a very limited budget. I already spent most of my savings on the application process and registration fees.Does anyone know of any free NCLEX question banks, apps, or websites with good-quality questions and rationales? I'm especially looking for resources that are similar to the NCLEX style or have NGN questions.I'm trying to strengthen my content knowledge first before my exam, so any recommendations would really help. Even if it's just free daily questions or websites with solid rationales, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much, and good luck sa mga magtatake ng NCLEX!🇺🇸🇺🇸

Pass in 85 question on the first try

Just giving back, I took my NCLEX on July 2nd, I found out I passed on the 4th.

I used uworld, did a few cat and it was telling me I needed more work because I kept scoring low. Went on YouTube and watched Mark klimeck from dr, I forgot her name.

The exam did not resemble uworld at all. All questions were vague.

It was not the toughest test I have ever taken, I think my paramedic test was 4x worse than the NCLEX. Definitely a safety test, when you are looking at the question, make sure you choose the safest option.

Passed the nclex in 91, 2nd attempt!

I want to share my experience having failed the nclex the first time for people who are in the same position or have to take it multiple times. Failure on this test has nothing to do with your intelligence or ability, you just have to master the art of taking this test. I know how discouraging and disheartening it feels but don’t give up and keep practicing- the more questions you do the better- you’re gonna pass this!

A little background, I took the nclex first time in April and failed in 85 questions. It was devastating and I felt like I couldnt trust my instincts.

Going into my second attempt, I switched from uworld to bootcamp and I liked it much better. I used simplenursing and dr. Sharon videos for concepts that didn’t stick. Despite all my studying, going into the test I didn’t feel confident, (failure will do that to you!) but I took it SLOW, rereading questions and really grappling with each answer.

Here are tips from what I can remember of my test:

It felt like most of my exam questions were sata and I only selected answers I was 100% certain on. So, most of my sata questions I’d only have 1 answer MAYBE 2 and it felt wrong- I’d always have a feeling there was another correct option but it’s not worth the risk! On this test it’s safer to get 1 point with certainty than risk any points off!

The prioritization questions were not straightforward! Yes it’s always ABCs but i got tricky scenarios that were confusing like airway issues that came second to circulation issues- I recommend dr Sharon prioritization video series for practice with these.

I know everyone says this but at the end of the day it’s a safety test! I really tried to internalize this for my second attempt, so just simple critical care info knowing baseline what would kill a patient, critical ecg rhythms, when to initiate chest compressions, this all came up.

I wish i could remember my test better and be more helpful. I want to encourage multiple time test takers, you can pass this. Don’t give up, you’ve got this!

Archer vs u world

I’m a repeat test taker failed first attempt with archer so I’m looking into getting u world but I just don’t like they only have 1 readiness assessment compared to archer it was unlimited. I’be been using bootcamp right now and it’s very similar to vagueness of nclex but I still feel need some content refresh. Does anyone really recommend U world?? I’m thinking of just getting another archer account since it’s cheaper.

Nclex on the 8th

I already rescheduled my NCLEX once to give myself one extra day. So far I've taken one Simple Nursing CAT exam (scored borderline), completed the free questions from UWorld and Bootcamp, watched several of Dr. Sharon's prioritization videos on YouTube (they honestly helped me a lot when I passed VATI), listened to Mark K Lecture 12, and used ChatGPT to review high-yield NCLEX topics. I've been studying on and off for a couple of weeks, but I've really been putting in the time over the last four days. Right now I'm finishing up more Mark K videos.

Even with all of that, I still don't feel ready. I know that's probably a common feeling, but I need to take the NCLEX because I have a job lined up and I'd really like to have my results by the 10th.

Does anyone have any last-minute tips or advice? Anything you did in the final day or two that you felt made a difference?

Nclex June 30th

I passed the NCLEX RN on 6/30!! I passed at 85. I studied with Archer, a little ATI (barely), and all 12 lectures of Mark K. Yes it was HELL studying for damn near a month but some days I barely studied. If you need advice let me know…what I did prepared me. I learned how to take NCLEX questions, that’s my biggest tip :)
Best of luck with studying and you got this :)

Nclex Panic

I’ve been using uworld and bootcamp to study and i just don’t feel like i’m improving. My bootcamp scores for general tests are always close to the average (at average and sometimes a bit higher or lower). My readiness exam on bootcamp was high and for Uworld my CAT exams were at 53rd percentile and 97th.
I feel like i fluctuate too much on the borderline and despite going back and studying each content area one by one, I seem to be stuck in this grey zone and idk what to do.
I’ve been watching Dr.Sharon and Nclex international crusade to build my critical thinking and test strats but I always feel like i’m stuck at square one after doing practice questions and my test day is closing in. Tbh idk what to do at this point and i feel so unprepared.

Need advice about second attempt

I’m taking my second attempt at the NCLEX next month, and I’ve been using NCLEX Bootcamp to study. Lately, though, I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed because the questions seem so random and incredibly specific. Most of the time I score in the low 60s, but then I’ll suddenly get a 40%, which makes me feel like I’m not making any progress.
I’ve been studying for about two weeks now. On my days off, I usually take two 40-question practice exams and watch Dr. Sharon’s videos along with the Bootcamp Crash Course. I work three 12-hour shifts each week, so I’m trying to stay consistent with my study schedule.
What’s discouraging is that when I first started, I was consistently scoring in the mid to low 60s, but now my scores seem to be going down. I know I’m learning because I understand more concepts than I did before, but it’s hard not to feel like I’m somehow getting worse instead of better. Like I’m reading every single rationale, and writing notes. Then I’ll review the notes every day I’m off. I just don’t understand why I’m not seeing any improvement and why my scores are honestly decreasing.

The second photo is when I first started and the third is my scores now. :(

PASSED @ 85Q BY GOD'S GRACE

I thank Jesus I was able to pass this exam. It's been months of prayers and preparation and God has been faithful.

For anyone writing soon, I pray for your success and always trust God and have faith in your preparation that God is going to do something good with you.

I'll like to leave you with this Bible verse

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

July 6th-11th test takers

I made this thread for Test takers next week. I take mine on the 7th and I’m a repeat test taker. At one point, I paid for the test and never went to take it. I have SEVERE test anxiety and I’m finally being treated for it but With my test coming up I’m starting to feel those old feelings again. If there is anyone who recently passed some encouragement and advice would be really appreciated.

This is it for me. I went into a different career field after stepping away from the test the last time. (Three years ago) and now I’m back. I’ve been studying for months. I’ve used bootcamp, I have the actual Mark k subscription and I listened to NCLEX crusader last week. The only thing I plan on doing today is a few test questions and relisten to some prioritization videos.

Passed the Nclex in 85

I wanted to come here to make others like me feel better. As someone who didn’t have much time to study (only 10 days) and only used U World I passed in 85! Yes I felt awful after the nclex thought I failed but god is great! Only did one self assessment and I got borderline. My overall score for 50% of the q bank was 67% I would fluctuate from 70s to 50s. Yall can do it! I only watched mark k lecture 12 other than u worlds q bank ! Yall can do it!!

Advice for a retaker

Taking the NCLEX for my third time coming up. First time I was near passing in all categories, second time I kinda messed up. I’ve used Archer the first two times, but this time I’ve been using Kaplan mostly and started watching Dr. Sharon for Klimek. I feel confident in certain aspects. I took my first CAT on Kaplan where all the categories say ‘near passing’ but the overall says ‘below passing standard’ and I feel.. stuck. I don’t want to think negative but I could use some advice as to how to improve if I’m doing something wrong maybe?

My NCLEX Is in 9 Days and I Feel Like I'm Falling Apart

I’m getting ready to take the NCLEX for the 3rd time, and honestly I could really use some advice.

I used Bootcamp for my first attempt and UWorld for my second. For this third attempt, I’ve been using UWorld much more consistently since I didn’t finish most of it before my second exam.

A few days ago, I scored 71% on a UWorld Self-Assessment, which gave me some confidence. But then I took an Archer CAT and failed at 85 questions with 61%, and my performance graph kept trending downward. I also got Borderline on an Archer Readiness Assessment. That CAT completely destroyed my confidence.

I know one of my biggest weaknesses is pharmacology, so I've been spending a lot of time reviewing it. Since that Archer CAT, I've been second-guessing myself on UWorld questions and getting more wrong than usual, probably because my confidence is gone.

I was originally scheduled to test in 2 days, but I was so scared of failing again that I rescheduled for 7 more days, so now my exam is in 9 days.

Right now I'm:

  • Studying pharmacology
  • Listening to Mark K lectures
  • Using UWorld (expires in 4–5 days)
  • Using Archer mainly for CAT exams

My UWorld overall percentile isn't great (around the 37th percentile), but I started using it when I was much weaker. Recently, my scores on question sets have mostly been around 65–72%.

For those who passed after multiple attempts, what would you do if you were in my position? Should I focus only on UWorld? Should I keep taking Archer CATs, or will that just hurt my confidence? Any advice would really mean a lot.
