passed at 85 on 2nd attempt! failed at 150 on 1st. AMA

hey everyone! found out i passed today after testing yesterday and shutting off at 85.

1st attempt: Uworld (stats were in favor of me passing) + Mark K + NCLEX Crusade + 45 min Crash Course NCLEX Review on youtube. really think testing anxiety got the best of me. left knowing i failed and cried and pulled an all nighter and cried even harder when i saw the failure email.

2nd attempt: Archer (5 RA: 4 VH + 1 H and question sets based on my weakest areas) + 1 Bootcamp RA (High) + a lot of Dr.Sharon + 2 hour Crash Course NCLEX review on youtube + 2 tutoring sessions w/ NurseMegRN (highly recommend + Mark K again. practiced breathing exercises and prayed a lot more.

both attempts i had a rationale notebook but the second attempt i was more intentional w/ my notes and reviewing content i had gaps in.

for those who are believers, i prayed A LOT. and was really heavy in my bible. that helped me calm down a lot. 🙏🏼🤍

please ASK ME ANYTHING, i want to help as many retakers as possible. i was struggling finding a bunch good success stories for 2nd try.

i start my residency in the ER in September ❤️. im praying for passes for everyone here!

am i ready for attempt #2?

hey everyone! im a retaker (failed my first attempt at 149 since it shut off on me before i could press submit on the very last question (used the entire 5 hours)) and my next attempt is approaching fast. i used Uworld the first time. my stats were good, i just think i had really bad testing anxiety after getting the two subjects i didn’t want (maternity and peds). i also listened to Mark K, a little of Dr.Sharon, and NCLEX Crusades.

i was below in the following: management of care, reduction of risk potential, prioritize hypotheses, and take actions

this go around, i switched to Archer (just using the Qbank). my RA have been: 3 VH and 1 H. i also did a bootcamp RA through the free trial and got a H. so altogether 3 VH and 2 H.

i redid mark k 1-11 through the summarized versions on tiktok from this nurse (@savannah.shayyy). took notes. and listened to lecture 12 on 1x speed just once so far. plan to do it one more time before i test. i have also listened to a lot of Dr.Sharon, i even go to sleep listening to her YouTube videos. i have also done a tutor session w/ Nurse Meg RN and have another one right before i test.

to all the retakers, those who passed second go around, do my stats reflect im ready???

failed 1st attempt at 150, any advice?

i posted in the r/NCLEX too so if you’ve already shared advice, again, really appreciate it!

to begin, i just want to say i appreciate any advice, testimonies, or just words of encouragement from anyone who’s experiencing what im experiencing. i am still very frustrated.

i took my NCLEX 7/1 and i went all the way to 150. i had decent stats on uworld (71% points, level of preparedness: on track, cat exams avg 70%-72%, Self assessment scores: 68% and 80%), ive been studying since the end of may. i hand wrote all of my wrong rationales, handwriting really helped me in nursing school. i have over 75+ pages of rationale notes. i felt so confident going in and i got the two categories i didn’t want for personal reasons: OB and Peds. i studied it but its just hard for me to do those questions (im a mom to an angel). it legit feels like a gut punch every time i get one of those questions. despite having a lot going on, i graduated as a B average student and worked really hard in school while dealing with a lot of grief in life. im so heartbroken.

i listened to mark k 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12 (listened to this one twice). also did nclex crusaders 7 day series, and dr.sharon priority playlist. i feel so defeated. i lost so much during school and pushed through and then to lose this. i just don’t know what to do.

has anyone had a similar experience and have any advice?

sending love to those who did take theirs and haven’t gotten their scores! i spent all night searching the internet and my anxiety was so bad. just go enjoy life. kinda wishing i did for a bit before getting that news.
