Feedback on Marhsal dry-fitting

Did some quick dry-fitting of DesthKorps heads on the House Greim Military Attaché and Commodore Gaius Silva to see how well they'd work as Marshals.

On one hand, I really like the look of both, on the other, I can definitely see how the fur might be a bit much, so I thought I'd dry-fit and get some feedback first, especialyl before I start cutting away Ultramar details from Gaius Silva.

I've seen the Military Attaché that way already, and it looked decent. Still think more recent feedback might be worth it.

As the actual head, I'd probably take one from TinyLegends or maybe from a spare Dreir.

Taking another look at the Wardens of Ultramar, Amelia Minervas might actually work as well, if the fur is fine.

Edit: sory for the bad images, camera straight up refused to properly focus.

Since GW keeps putting the generic Deathmaster in every other box, I ended up with some spares and decided to use them to make some additional Gutter Runners.

  • Cut off the feet from the half arch he sits on by default
  • Cut down the cape in the back both and filed the edges down a bit, same with the long parts hanging off the mask
  • One sits on a modified version of the perch the standard unit champion has
  • The other sits on a piece of 3d-printed pipe I propped up with some sprue parts that I'll turn into a bit of sewer wall, probably will make at least part of the bottom of the base sewage
  • Gave one the hands with the two bladed tonfa and put the crest of the unit champion on his head
  • The other (so far) has kept the original shuriken, but I gave him one of the claw/punch dagger hands

The blade tonfa one will be the unit champion for my second unit, the other one will probably be a regular Gutter Runner most of the time.

I've been working on a Warlord on Bonebreaker and I thought I'd share.

Basis are a spare Island of Blood/Spire of Dawn Rat Ogre and Warlord (actually comes with a piece of tactical elven pillar I cut off), but the new Rat Ogres should work just as well and the regular Clawlord might actually work better thanks to the pose (no hands barely above the side border of his palanquin) and the potentially easier to remove rock he's standing on.

I decided to give the Rat Ogre a spare head from the new ones, which fits surprisingly good with just a little bit of cutting.

The palanquin is made from some wooden craft/ice cream sticks/spatulas (all basically the same I think). I carved in some lines with my mould line remover to indicate wood grain, I think it should match the Skaven kits.

The four posts are made from wooden skewers. Since they are obviously not plastic, I went with pinning for a stronger connection, but the fixed point at the bottom makes it a lot easier to get the angle right

The lower left post has a bit of unintended experimentation after I managed to loose a piece of paperclip inside the Rat Ogre (wanted to dry fit if it actually works as I had in mind and didn't glue it into the skewer) and I had the brilliant idea to use a (dull) hobby knife and my mould line remover to widen the hole I'd drilled there to get it out with a magnet.

The tops of the posts were cut at roughly the correct angle to match the palanquin

Prepped the top of the posts and the bottom of the palanquin for pinning, same for the Warlord. All these are not glued yet, so I can properly paint everything.

I also used my dull hobby knife and mould line remover to try and give the post some wood grain lines, I'll see how well that worked when I put paint on the thing eventually.

Went in with some plastic putty around the base of the posts, especially the lower left one, to hide any gaps that might be there.

Still unsure if I want sculpt something on the Bonebreaker itself where the posts connect, or maybe in general to give it a bit of a facelift over the regular Rat Ogres.

Same for the base, not sure I want to go for the 50mm of the Rat Ogre or maybe go for the Gnaw Beast size.

This weekend I realized that all the resin weapons are finally gone from GWs online store. While the set of paired Warlord carapace weapons is still there, it's listed as "Sold out Online" and doesn't show up when filtering the AT or LI sections for Resin/Expert kits (only the Warlord Sinister, Armiger and Moirax show up, plus the Marauder squadrons for LI), so I feel confident in counting it as gone too.

I really hope this means that we'll get these in plastic soon, the profiles still existing in LI at least gives me hope that that's where this is going rather than just removing them.

I really like the look of the Grav- and Conversion weapons and hate that I missed the chance to get them.
