Trying to build a guard/krieg list for trench tactics

Basically I’m wanting to keep some guard in reserve or behind my aegis as a precaution and send out the first lot along with the death riders and Leman Russ to sort of take pot shots whilst bombarding the enemy with my artillery.
You get what I mean, basically I do genuinely want advice for how to make this army more effective as I’m not really new to the game but I am by all means rather bad 😭

Krieg Engineering Company: Half-Tracks and Taurox (part II)

Alright, so I went back through and did a N*zi-B*stard-ectomy on the Halftrack, and I now have three vehicles to incorporate into the Engineering Company/Regiment.

1.) Centaur "Light" Halftrack
This is based on the newer model that was recently released. Presently, I have (3) variants worked out. A standard, open-topped model ideal for towing around support weapons (and maybe even the Rapier Laser Destroyer), an armored-top command and communications vehicle, and a "Pioneer" version that has some light bridge-laying equipment. It's duties will basically be that of a medium-sized transport truck and recon vehicle. Armed with a heavy stubber.

2.) Taurox "Heavy" Halftrack
The standard Taurox with the Dual Autocanons replaced with a single pintle-mounted Autocannon and the front tracks replaced with a double-wheel system (purely for style - I mean look at it!). One vehicle is assigned to each platoon and performs all functions that a standard Taurox would do - transport a 10-man Engineer squad and it's equipment wherever needed, provide fire support with it's autocanon, and can also tow around the Platoon's Hades Breeching drill on a flatbed trailer. (I learned that the British had a tank transporter in WW2 called the Scammell Pioneer that not only could haul around a 30+ ton Sherman Medium tank, but it also bears a striking resemblance to the Taurox. This is good enough for me!). Can also mount heavy or light plows to assist with digging in the unit once it gets to it's destination. Communications and standard variant shown with both plow types.

3.) Chimera Infantry Carrier
A Chimera without a turret - primarily used as an armored Bulldozer or steamroller in the HQ platoon as well as a transport for the HQ Platoon's supporting infantry squad. It looks pretty cool, might figure something else to do with it, later! No pics of this - it's a Chimera without a turret and a large plow or roller on the front.

Finally completed my command staff…

Over a year later, I’ve finished the rest of the command squad plus a commissar (other than basing). Absolutely no more DKoK infantry will be painted by myself for my army unless they release grenadiers, or a stand alone Marshall.

Now for more tanks 😏

She is complete, Commissar Graves

Pretty happy with this one!

Head on Graves, bodies and helmets on the guys in the back are from Tiny Legends, kept the original arms for the bodyguards, worked out really nice!

Was there an official paint scheme for the Engineer backpacks?

I wanted to paint them as close to the box art as possible but can't seem to find any. Do I have to make them up on my own?

My first krieg tank compared to store model

This is my first bought model i painted & i wanted to show you all. The tank is definitely not finished yet, but it's getting their

Krieg Combat Engineer Company - Concerning the Taurox (and/or it's proxy.)

So while I focus more on my Hades Diorama, another interesting lore-based conundrum has presented itself in regards to my engineering company.

As I started working out my Engineering Company, I knew that this would become a mostly motorized/mechanized unit due, mostly due to the sheer amount of equipment that Engineers need to haul around to do their various battlefield tasks. Imperial Armour Vol. 12 permits 5-man teams to use a Centaur Universal Carrier as a dedicated transport, and 10-man squads to use a Hades as a "transport," but the Hades is more based on game mechanics than lore - nobody is riding that thing into battle except the one guy on the back. I figured that they'd have a Taurox or some kind of Chimera-based vehicle that the squad would actually ride around in with all their equipment - perhaps with a trailer hitch and a flatbed to tow the Hades around in (not in-game, of course! That would make the Hades useless...)

Seeing as the Death Korps isn't particuarly known for using the Chimera directly (aside from the storm Chimera, which doesn't feel particuarly appropriate for Engineers to use). The obvious vehicle for this is the Taurox APC - I know that (especially in recent years), loading one of these beasts with Engineers is a fantastic way to close the distance, and honestly that playstyle fits in perfectly with this army's concept anyway.

I started out with a proxy - a heavily modified "Space Hanomag" Halftrack that has an MRAP-style mine-clearing arm and some WW2 Pioneer-style Bridge pontoons, but recently I started to wonder if it's more appropriate to simply use the Taurox directly (perhaps with the Pontoon Bridges and a heavy plow attachment?) I know that there are currently no in-game provisions to deploy one without the Autocanons (I'd imagine that the engineers would trade those in for a pintle-mounted Heavy Stubber, the ability to carry light bridging equipment, and either de-mining equipment or a plow attachment of some kind.)

Currently, I have the ability to produce both Taurox and Proxy, as well as anything in between - I've seen a LOT of kit-bashes and conversions that swap out the tracks for wheels, and as you can see I have made a version of the Taurox that itself is a halftrack...

What does everyone think? Should I stick with my Hanomag/MRAP/Buffalo mashup as a proxy, or is a straight-up Taurox with some appropriate Pioneer Stowage more appropriate? Would a Taurox realistically be able to tow around a Hades or a Rapier on a flatbed trailer when the unit is on the move between battlefields?

EDIT: Some.great points, here - I have 3 Options:

1.) Standard Taurox. Pros: Lore-Friendly, Pairs well with Engineers in-game already. Cons: Looks like a beefy Bedford HQ truck at default, and the "Dip-Sprayer" from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' when all the Pioneer additions are added on...

2.) Space-O-Mag Halftrack: Pros: looks gritty and believable as both a transport and for towing the squads Hades around. Cons: Nazi Bastard design.

3.) Chimera/Trojan: Pros: can absolutely carry a 10-man squad and tow the squads Hades drill around, good utility. Chassis is already in use elsewhere in the Battalion... Cons: maybe not the most interesting thing to see?

TC: “I don’t need them. I never get out of my tank.“

EH: “What are you doing right now?”

TC: “……..You inquire too much.”

Color decision help for Bane Wolf chem tanks.

So I’ve begun the process of painting two hellhounds for my Krieg army and realized that painting them red like my usual flamethrower storage tanks would be odd. I elected to search online what chemical artillery shells looked like hence the last two pictures and think I’ll hit mine with Mechanicus grey and then a green and yellow stripe.

That being said I’ve not fully decided and would love to hear what others have painted Bane Wolf tanks as or what they would think color wise.

Introducing Krieg 508th Heavy Tank Battalion’s very own “Minefield”

Now, off to paint the 7 other variants /and/ the second Octoblade. 😂

What should I write on the front?

I was thinking of writing something in white paint on the front of my remote mine, like "kaboom" or something. Besides that, what're some other words you guys would pick?
