Back on caffeine after 2-years, it feels like a super power

Not to tempt any of you guys to get back on it, quite the opposite. Because abstaining was absolutely necessary to reset my system and figure out what my body actually performs like unaided.

And like most of you I did see benefits, less brain fog, more manageable anxiety and energy levels.

However, eventually my new baseline evidently still had flaws. I was still napping most days something I’ve never been able to figure out with diet, sleep, exercise, blood tests..

And of course brain fog and anxiety does still come in doses, quitting caffeine wasn’t a miracle cure after all.

And so I’ve tried having a coffee again in the morning. The impact from it was instantly evident. My clarity and focus sky rockets, energy levels elevated, mood. It’s clear to me now how this really is a potent drug, and shouldn’t be trivialised.

And so, moving forward I intend to drink coffee still, but in controlled amounts. My problem before was that it became too much, 3-5 strong cups a day, it wasn’t sustainable, just like with any drug. However, careful and controlled amounts I believe can enhance my life.

I wonder if any of you guys revisited caffeine with positive results, or had different experiences?

I’m just going off what my mum said and this quote above, but it seems excessive? She hired this company to clean moss off the roof, they ended up discovering the state of the roof. She said he could “stick his arm through the roof under the tiles” and that the “felting had completely gone” and that it was “rotting the woodwork”

So in summary it seems to me they’re renewing the parts underneath the roof and reinstalling the roof covering to make it weatherproof again.

Apparently they quoted her £30k to use “brand new everything” which I’m assuming meant tiles. But she opted for this £16k which is reusing her tiles.

She’s annoyingly already committed to the work, they wanted £4k upfront to “acquire materials”. I dunno.. all sounds dodgey to me tbh, I’m disappointed she didn’t tell me earlier so we could have got a few different opinions and quotes.

It’s not even an itemised quote, just some thing he knocked up in his van. What would you guys do? She’s already sent them £2k and they’ve started apparently.

It’s a 2-bed semi detached bungalow, not a very big house. The company is on check a trade with decent reviews if that stands for anything.

No scaffolding being used.
