Nightmare experience with Swedish first hill while pregnant

I’ve been with Swedish First Hill throughout my pregnancy and wanted to share my frustrating experience.

Back in May, a genetic counselor confirmed I’m a carrier for Factor XI deficiency, a (rare) bleeding disorder my dad has severely. I was referred to Swedish Hematology, who requested labs through my midwife. After completing them, I was told hematology had reviewed my results and I wasn’t at increased risk of bleeding.

Later, while looking into switching to UW Northwest due to other issues with Swedish, they flagged my Factor XI history. Turns out, Swedish had never actually tested my Factor XI activity!! They tested Factor VIII and other clotting factors instead.

I brought this up with my midwife, who said she’d consult hematology and order the correct test. Another blood draw later, they got it wrong AGAIN. This time testing Factor II, Factor V, but still no Factor XI.

Now I’m 8 months pregnant, and knowing my Factor XI levels is important for planning delivery. I tried calling Swedish Hematology, got transferred 4 times, then was redirected to Ballard, where multiple calls and a voicemail went unanswered. I couldn’t reach the genetic counselor either.

By this point, 4 different people had reassured me I wasn’t at increased bleeding risk and didn’t need hematology, despite never testing my Factor XI activity.

I finally contacted the Washington Center for Bleeding Disorders myself, and they said I should be seen ASAP given how far along I am without knowing my levels or having a delivery plan.

I also filed a formal complaint, but their response was about an entirely different specialist I saw for unrelated genetic cancer screening.

I’m shocked by the lack of communication and urgency, especially this late in pregnancy. Sharing in case anyone is considering Swedish First Hill for maternity care. Unfortunately, this isn’t my only issue with them, and I’m happy to share more if anyone is interested.

Fell for the Punchbowl/Paperless Post Gmail scam, anyone compromised but had nothing stolen/sent?

I unfortunately fell for the punchbowl/paperless post scam. It was sent from my friends Gmail account, and once clicking the link I saw it was paperless post which I have an account with and blindly authenticated through Gmail on my laptop. I didn’t realize it was a scam until a couple days later, and I noticed a windows login on my Gmail. They were active for about 22 hours before logging off.

I don’t have any saved Gmail contacts and the people who I do contact on Gmail have not received anything from me. I’ve since changed passwords for Gmail and financial accounts. I know they seem to focus on gift cards/airline points and so far I don’t notice such activity.

The one thing I’m concerned with is having personal documents like immigration and tax related that could’ve been downloaded (I know, dumb of me). Is it possible they didn’t find anything they wanted on my email? I’m guessing these are automated scams looking for specific info.

Has anyone had a compromise where they logged in but didn’t seem to do anything?

Thanks!

Marriage-Based AOS Seattle/Tukwila FO (Approved)

Hi all, wanted to share my AOS timeline. I’m a Canadian citizen who adjusted from TN status after living and working in the US for 7 years. No overstays/unauthorized work.

Timeline
03/02/2026 – I-130 & I-485 received
03/21/2026 – Biometrics scheduled
04/08/2026 – Biometrics
04/28/2026 – Interview scheduled
06/04/2026 – Interview
06/05/2026 – I-130 and I-485 approved
06/09/2026 – Card produced
06/12/2026 – Card delivered

95 days from filing to approval!

The interview was straightforward and lasted about 40 mins. The officer was friendly and conversational, laughed quite a bit. He asked us for our social security cards at the beginning of the interview. He reviewed the I-130 information and asked questions about our relationship timeline, how we met, etc. We brought a binder of evidence but he only looked at one new photo which wasn’t uploaded yet and scanned it in.

He then moved on to reviewing the I-485 and asking the yes/no questions. He asked why we chose Adjustment of Status instead of consular processing. I explained that I was working in the US already and currently pregnant, so AOS made more sense for our situation. He did press me on some (old) traffic citations (I have 2 camera tickets from the US, and 3 tickets from Canada) and he asked me some questions about them including why did they occur and I said they were a mistake and wouldn’t happen again. He said AOS is discretionary and they weigh pros and cons and these are considered cons.

He said our case is still under review and we’ll hear back from them. The next day both the I-130 and I-485 were approved. The I-130 approved in the morning and the I-485 in the evening.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, I feel very fortunate our case moved so quickly!

Hey all. I (30f) took violin lessons weekly from the age of 5 to 18. In addition, I did RCM exams, theory lessons and exams, chamber music groups, orchestras, fiddle classes and competitions, and even viola. I was never forced into violin and always wanted to play. However, my first teacher would make me cry… every single lesson. Even when I was 5. Violin was very competitive at a young age and I was pressured by teachers to compete and be the best, always told I wasn’t perfect enough and had to do more. I’m trying to pick it up again and even found an amazing and supportive teacher, but I can’t get myself to enjoy it. I love the violin but playing it again brings back old memories and makes me tense. Has anyone experienced this? Any tips on how to rebuild a healthier, more relaxed relationship with playing?
