Dating in Diaspora

First-date question when dating in the diaspora should be: “What’s your status? Do you have papers?” 😂

“Equally yoked” now apparently includes immigration status because people are no longer always genuine about relationships. Some enter relationships with hidden intentions of securing papers.

And honestly, this isn’t just within the Zim community—it seems to happen across different African communities too.

Unenge uchitoti wawana soulmate apa munhu akateya hake kusadzingwa na Trump 😂😭

Are you guys seeing this too?

I think people should be more self aware

French-speaking Zimbabweans: A Possible Pathway to Canada

I'm actually at work right now 😅. I've finished most of my tasks and I'm just waiting for lunch, so I thought I'd share this in case it helps someone.

If you speak French and English, there are immigration pathways to Canada that may be worth looking into.

I moved to Canada through Express Entry and became a Canadian citizen in 2026. Please #DYOR do your own research, as immigration programs and requirements can change.

French Pathways

1. Express Entry
Canada's main system for managing permanent residence applications for skilled workers.

2. Express Entry: Category-Based Selection (French Language Proficiency)
Canada regularly invites French-speaking candidates to apply for permanent residence. Generally, you'll need French test results showing at least NCLC 7 in all four language abilities.

On July 22, 5,000 invitations were issued under a French-language proficiency draw.

3. Francophone Community Immigration Pilot
For skilled workers who want to live and work in Francophone communities outside Quebec.

Any Zimbabwean Redditors in Canada? 🇨🇦🇿🇼

Just wondering if there are any Zimbabweans on here based in Canada, especially around the GTA/Toronto area since that’s where most events happen.

I’m thinking of going to this Max Amini comedy show if anyone else is interested.

I also have 2 tickets for the Chris Brown and Usher concerts on August 11th. If I can’t sell them, I’d be happy to go with someone from the community.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea 😂—this isn’t a hookup. We’d just meet at the venue, enjoy the show, and head our separate ways afterward.

Dating after Divorce

Any mid-30s, divorced, no kids, and back in the dating scene?

I’m 33, was married for 2 years, and I’m now going through a divorce I never wanted but had no choice about.

Has society’s label around divorce affected your dating experience? I don’t believe a failed marriage means your capacity to love has diminished—it simply means the marriage didn’t work.

For those who’ve been through it, what worked, what didn’t, and what advice would you give someone starting over in maybe 2 years once healed, does it ever heal or it will be always part of you.

I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who’ve actually experienced divorce. Please, let’s keep the discussion respectful—if you’re only here to judge or stir things up, I’d prefer you sit this one out.

Invested in Nyeredzi. ridge stands and developer has been sketchy on compliance for Phase 2 changing goalposts and compliance dates.

Yet Harare City council already charging rates which are around 1200usd +

How does one start paying for rates when compliance is not yet given and people can’t even build

And Nyeredzi ridge is one of the most sought areas

Please trade carefully with these “gated communities , I hear Northgate has its own issues so you wonder where do we turn to .
