Leaving the house, I left her to free roam on a floor today for 10 mins and she didn’t cry at all, just stayed near the front door and looked out the window beside it the whole time. Would love to get to a point where she is sleeping. She is a jindo mix tho = strong guardian DNA. Even when I go to a diff floor she will move to a spot where she can see the front door.

Any suggestions on how to work up to a few hours where she is relaxed?

My dog (2.5 years old) that I've only had for 2 months has mild SA. She cries for 5 mins at the beginning when I leave, and again when I return. During the 2-3 hours that I'm away she mostly lies down, with the occasional whimper here and there that last less than a minute.

My question is, if she is generally fine for 2-3 hours, do I need to keep working up to say… 5 hours in increments? Or can I just go ahead and do 5 hours sometimes when I need to?

EDIT: Forgot to mention she is crated.

When they return, the dog will go back to sleeping in crate. Dog has been crying and panting since partner has been away.
