Ive been on the look for a pc for a few years now, the time has come to where I can afford one, I picked out a pre built with a ryzen 7 9800x3d and a 5080, I thought it sounded good, I did some small amount of research, probably dumb on my part but most places said that its an extremely decent pairing.

However my friend who has had pc for a good 10+ years is now making me second guess my choice, he has told me that the 9800 has issues to where it will fry itself, now being completely new to pc's I wouldn't have the first clue if hes trolling me for the funnies or being completely serious, is there anyone here that has a 9800x3d and have you had these or any other issues, just to put my mind at ease.

Ive just got my first gaming pc, I was wondering what kind of programs people would recommend to keep everything running smoothly, im new to this so it might be worded wrong but any help would be appreciated.
