50 [F4M] #online LF Someone Who Gets It
I'm a 50 year old childfree, unmarried (see below), non-religious, medical lab careered woman near the Colorado Rocky Mountains (but raised near the South Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains). I'm looking for someone around my age who reads what follows and thinks "you get a wonderful view from the point of no return."
Firstly, I want to be up front that my living situation is in a holding pattern right now. I share my space with someone platonically, and we both know it's running its course, but economics mean we're cohabitating for now. So while I may not be able to hop on a plane to meet you tomorrow, I am available for something real and intentional that exists beautifully in whatever room it's actually given to grow.
What I want is embarrassingly specific. The kind of connection that exists purely by choice. No obligation, no pressure, no labels unless they feel right. Just two people genuinely curious about each other who keep choosing to show up. Subtle over overwhelming. Small things over grand gestures. Nothing too rushed. Somewhere between the black and white friendzone and slow burn intimacy, love isn't finite and intimacy isn't just about sending nudes.
I wanna talk about string theory, death, myths, sex, consciousness, the lies you've told, your favourite scents, your childhood, what keeps you up at night. And when your brain is too foggy for any of that, send me an absurd TikTok or rabbit hole youtube you can't look away from, tell me what you really hated about your favourite movie, what you just bought on Amazon but will probably return the second it's delivered. Be prepared for all the same from me.
I’m into gaming, films, eating what’s been cooked (but I’m not too shabby in the kitchen), music, listening to people read (audiobooks are just easier at work and in bed), podcasts and the more than occasional creative tangent (cursed or blessed to be an only child with nothing but my too vivid imagination and a library card for companionship)...
My sense of humour is firmly British-adjacent, the dryer the better, I want to hear the jokes crunch under my bare feet. Frankie Boyle, Billy Connolly, Blackadder, Detectorists, The Thick of It, Spaced, League of Gentlemen, The Mighty Boosh, Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing. George Carlin and Zach Galifianakis get a pass from the American side.
If you can do a good pun run without breaking eye contact we're already getting along.
My podcast queue is a pretty good overview of what gives me brain tingles, The Bugle, Infinite Monkey Cage, No Such Thing as a Fish, Tasting History, ThatChapter, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. A bit of everything.
I listen to the Discworld series every year, do the NYT puzzles most days, play cosy games mostly, dabble in WoW and ESO occasionally, and I'm a recent BoardGameArena convert. I have a deep and slightly obsessive relationship with music across every genre, mostly independent. I greatly admire the ability of musicians to put into words and sounds what's on my mind at most any given moment.
I am eager to find that organic back and forth where one thing leads to another and suddenly it's 2am and we've covered quantum entanglement, the best way to cook a potato, and that one song that wrecked you at seventeen.
If any of this sounds like your wavelength, message me something that made you laugh recently or think twice about or tap your foot.
