Having a Wedding the Saturday After Thanksgiving - Yay or Nay?

To be clear, I am NOT planning my own wedding at this time, nor do I know anyone planning to get married on this day. I'm just procrastinating on getting things done today and happened to be musing about wedding stuff because I was recently asked to be a bridesmaid for my best friend who is getting married this year, though over a month before Thanksgiving lol. This is also US Thanksgiving that I'm talking about, so it would be the fourth Thursday in November, which would make the imaginary wedding in question two days later on the last Saturday of the month (or second to last, if Thanksgiving falls on the 22nd that year).

Should I get engaged within the next year or so, I wouldn't mind having a fall wedding myself and the idea of having it on the last Saturday of November popped into my head as a possibility, which for various reasons seemed like a good date initially (wouldn't interfere with relatives'/friend's birthdays and anniversaries earlier in the fall). But then it occurred to me that that's almost always Thanksgiving weekend, so I was curious if anyone had done this before or been invited to a wedding on that day before. If you were asked to be in a wedding the Saturday after Thanksgiving or attend one as a guest, how would you feel?

Pros:

  • family/friends coming from out of town more likely to already be in town for Thanksgiving, so no need to ask them to do extra travelling
  • people most likely already have that Friday off work, so no need to worry about taking time off for rehearsal/last minute wedding prep stuff
  • if leaving for a short honeymoon right after, it might be less expensive? (well, flights out that Sunday might not be, but since it's after a major holiday I'm thinking it might be a bit of a lull for hotels and such, so possibly there would be better deals)

Cons:

  • travel more expensive/chaotic over holiday weekend for anyone from out of town who wasn't planning to visit for Thanksgiving already
  • people might be upset over missing out on any holiday traditions, parties, or Christmas shopping that Friday/Saturday
  • It's the start of the Christmas season, so some venues might already be booked for holiday events and parties
  • weather could be more unpredictable in late November than other times of the year
  • people might not look forward to a big gathering right after a major holiday

As I'm typing this out, my list of potential cons keeps growing, so perhaps this would be a terrible idea after all lol. Any past/future Thanksgiving weekend brides/grooms, wedding guests, or bridesmaids/groomsmen care to chime in?
