First pair of pants!

Rambler pants from Friday Pattern Company, made from a thrifted duvet cover (woven cotton, lighter weight than the pattern recommends & a fraying nightmare tbh).

These ended up much higher waisted than I anticipated, so I skipped the fake belt. I shortened them quite a bit and I think I could have done a better job redrawing the side seam lines.

There’s definitely a lot that I’d do differently next time, but this was an awesome learning experience and I’m actually excited to wear these! They make me feel like I’m at a resort :)

These are the same four test buttonholes, which I did in order of left to right. I got the random (light yellow) thread working okay, not great, but the project thread (blue) looks terrible. The stitches are super loose.

Between the first blue attempt (second from the right) and second blue attempt (rightmost), I tried increasing the upper tension and the presser foot pressure, which made it a bit worse I think, but it’s hard to say.

This is my first time using the vintage buttonholer (on a 66 fwiw). Help! I’m gonna run out of blue thread at this rate.
