Been working around 2yrs at a company as an SE and the industry. It was promising the first year and I actually learnt something, but it's gone significantly downhill from there. Despite almost working 2 years , I realized I don't have expected experience for 2 years. Day to day work has been significantly repetitive.
They've given Claude Code and just expecting us to do miracles within crazy deadlines and so basically no learning at all. I've brought this up many times and it just falls on deaf ears.
It's come to the point if the project client wants us to mop their building, we'll get assigned to mop their building. The JD we signed up for doesn't matter.
No promotions or appraisals as well.
Considering the job market, I've applied to many roles and haven't even got a rejection email. The interviews I do land, I don't get any callbacks. I've realized being average or above average isn't enough.
