Need advice for motor speech

I have a 10 year old who can say the majority of the sounds in a word with a motor approach. Also can read alright when done slowly. However, in conversation, they have a TON of errors. Intelligibility is low. This is new to me, any tips and tricks are welcome!

Low pay frustration

I work in the schools. Today I had a long conversation with my OT friend who has worked in the schools equally as long (same grad year). She makes **20k** more than I do. I case manage, she doesn't. She has a guarenteed desk space, I've been put in a literal closet with a child's chair and told if I don't like it I cam buy my own. I'm on the teacher contract, she isn't. She had her OTA years honored, my SLPA years don't count because I wasn't a "licensed teacher". I can now fully understand why the schools cannot retain staff. The amount my district spends on contracted staff must be easily in the millions.

I am getting so frustrated by this. Do you have the same issue in your district? Has anyone managed to solve this issue, or work somewhere that has?

Edit: We are both direct hires

Edit 2: I looked at the contract, she makes so much more because her OTA years were honored and my SLPA years weren't.

Brother has roaches...SOS

Hello, I am visiting my little brother (in Manhattan specifically, if that matters) from out of town and he didn't tell me they have roaches until I got here (🙄). He said the landlord stopped having the exterminator come around once the tenants started to unionize in retaliation. So far I've seen a small one in the kitchen, and one scurry in the bathroom when I went to pee at night. He said so far they've tried the roach birth control, and caulking cracks in the walls. He said he is "pretty sure" the health department has been called multiple times.

He's still in college so he's young and doesn't always know how to approach these things.

I have two questions:

  1. What should he know about fighting this?

  2. What steps, if any, are necessary to avoid unintentionally bringing this home to our parents upstate?

Y'all I am MISERABLE

I live in the upper midwest and we have had relentless 3+ week long 95F (35C) weather. And now on top of that we have a storm blowing in and we have had so much wildfire smoke.

My body is covered in hives. I am so stir crazy. I am irritable. Even going outside with an N95 triggers my asthma. I literally would prefer 0 degrees over this. At least then you can bundle up and go for a walk.

I have an air purifier going. I have the AC running. I am reacting to everything. Any and all advice is welcome

And for those who will ask I take ketotifen, cromolyn, famotidine and LDN
