The nether

Been on the server a few days, first time playing on any server on PC. I died about 20 times trying to get out of spawn, and the one time I found the nether highway some absolute elytra wielding Japsie killed me. I'm quite a good distance from spawn now, I haven't encountered any other players for 2 days, but base ruins and nether portals are still pretty common. The thing is, I know you need to go at least 200k blocks before you're at least some what safe, and another 30 hours of hiking through the over world sounds... well, like alot of hiking I suppose. Is there a certain distance into the nether where it's 'safer', or less active. Or am I just better off gritting my teeth and grinding out the overworld. It's not all bad, seeing all the ruined bases is fun enough, but if I can save 25 hours of walking, i'd like to. I get about 3 hours or so free in the evening, so it'd shave a week off for me easily.

A question from a player.

I've played minecraft for a long time, but never on servers, let alone anarchy servers. After two hours I've finally got a bed out of spawn, but I'm worried about placing chests. I saw a sign inside of a hidden starter base-ish area at spawn, presumably a place for new players like me to get their bearings, and it said that you shouldn't place any chests because other players can see them. I'm well outside of spawn now, but the sign has obviously got me worried about placing any chests. Is there a way to hide them, or a "safer" way to store items? Like barrels maybe? Or am I ok now I'm a good distance from spawn? Also, how can other players "see" chests through walls. Is it some kind of new potion or something?

Any advice is appreciated.

Also, I hope this doesn't violate your introduction clause. I'm not looking for a team or anything, I just want to know why chests are different in servers.

DA equipment mods

Hello guys,

I've played the DA games (DA:O in particular) religously since I was 12 years old, and I love them. The thing is, I've played DA:O that much that it's gotten a little boring. Specifically, the equipment. I know where everything is, I know what it does, I know the endgame sets me and my companions are gonna have right from the start. I recently got a PC and looked at some of the mods, and alot seem really good (extra dog slot is a must have), but I couldn't see anything about different weapons and equipment. Is there anything that does this? New stuff, or just randomising things a little? The combat overhauls sound good aswell, but still. New item sets would be really refreshing.

Also, there are ALOT of Alistair romance mods out there. I mean ALOT. I think I saw a list of about 15 different scenes. "Alistair: Sunlit bath". Wtf guys. Get your heads out the gutter. Since when is my childhood fantasy game smut. Zevran was in the list to. And Leliana. And SHALE... as in, the rock women. She wasn't a women in the screenshot I saw. Disgusting. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Mod loading help

I'm only just learning how modding works and, to be honest, I'm more than happy with what I've got (modrinth makes it so easy). I was wondering about the wisdom of being a little forceful with some mods though. I'm having an issue with certain mods which ARE Fabric (my instances "setting" I suppose) but can't be downloaded because the mods are the wrong "version". The thing is, I had a similar issue with a mod for allowing use of an xbox controller on PC. It worked, it updated, and then it didn't work. Since I've been an xbox player for the last 12 years, this was the only mod I HAD to have. So, I took the risk with very little understanding, and I just picked the older version of the mod and it worked again. Is there anyway I can safely get mods like this with this message loading properly using the same tactic? Or is it a case of being more risky the bigger and more complex the mod is? The mod above just adds blue burning textures to creatures when they walk in blue fire, so surely that would be a low risk install right? Any help is appreciated.
