Why praise Islamic societies while choosing to live in the West ?

Hello guys,

I’m a Muslim from Europe, and since I was young, I’ve noticed the schizophrenic side of many Muslims who left their home countries — or even the children of immigrants born in Europe — constantly saying how great their countries of origin are, while continuing to live in and enjoy France or other Western countries even more.

There seem to be three kinds of people in this situation:

  • Those who openly admit that France or Western countries are better in many ways.
  • Those who say their country of origin (like Morocco, for example) is the best, but still admit they enjoy living in France.
  • And finally, those who constantly criticize France while glorifying their country of origin.

As European Muslims, many of us live with a kind of identity conflict. We are Muslim and attached to our culture, but we also live in Western societies whose values often contradict our own. At the same time, we still have to fit into these societies to work, earn money, and be respected.

I recently watched a French Christian YouTuber who talks a lot about politics and current events, and he was discussing this subject. I found it very interesting. I translated part of his 5-minute video into English — tell me what you think :

"The reality is that you leave, you flee the civilizational outcomes of Islam because your countries are dysfunctional, but because of misplaced pride, you can’t admit that your civilizations are in a state of failure, especially because of your materialistic spirituality.

So you come to the West because the West is pleasant, because the West is successful. It’s not perfect, but it succeeds in many ways, and yet you come here to explain the splendors of Islam from within the West. And honestly, I want you to know that I’m ashamed for you. I know that’s a strong word, but I’m ashamed for you. You embarrass me. It’s terrible to be a civilizational failure in someone else’s country while advertising a model you fled from at full speed.

Jesus — the civilization of Jesus — pays better than the civilization of Allah. For you Muslims, Jesus is a better provider. You enjoy the fruits of Christianity. You come into societies built by Christians, with institutions shaped by Christian mentalities. In reality, Allah is a poor provider. It’s Jesus who gives you welfare, education, dentists, and a fulfilling society.

And that gives you a huge inferiority complex, which paradoxically makes you cling even harder to your religion, because this contrast humiliates you constantly — the contrast between the splendor of the West and the backwardness associated with your countries.

So instead of becoming Christian — which, according to his logic, would make sense — you become even more assertive about Islam. The further you move away from Islam and the more you choose to leave, the more loudly you defend it. It’s extraordinary.

But where are the waves of Christians wanting to move to your countries? You know it yourselves — I don’t even need to compare, because it’s obvious — the West is better at almost everything. It’s brutal.

And you’ve got an iPhone. Even the Kalashnikovs you use to massacre Christians were invented by Christians. Just that alone would make me think. If for war you’re using a Japanese Toyota, an Orthodox Christian Kalashnikov, Protestant satellite networks, then there’s a huge problem — what he calls a ‘civilizational void.’

Sure, geometric patterns are nice, but at some point there are proportional statues, cinema, scanners, radiology, helicopters, rockets — all these things. And those things didn’t come from a civilizational desert.

So at some point, have a little dignity, please. You’re the only ones who do this. There’s no other example in humanity of people leaving their own countries to live among others while still presenting themselves as a model.

It’s like saying: ‘Damn, the place I fled from like a coward — if only you knew how beautiful it is! WAllah, my brother, I swear! Afghanistan, Algeria — it’s so pure, so beautiful! I left with a heavy heart!’ Meanwhile: ‘Yeah, go book your fully reimbursed scanner appointment on Doctolib.’”

Just hit Master on EUW — How do I improve and reach GM now?

Hi guys,

For the past 3 seasons, I’ve always peaked around Master 40 LP.
After hitting Master, I usually stop playing because that was my main goal, and then I eventually demote back to D4.

Right now I’m Master 30 LP with a 57% win rate. (yi otp)

But this season, I really want to push further and reach at least GM.

Any advice on what I should focus on to improve and make the jump from Master to GM?

Here’s my OP.GG:: https://op.gg/fr/lol/summoners/euw/D4rk%20Texhnolyze-EUW
