Hello Mythology lovers,

I wrote a little letter "from Apollo" for my snail mail club this month, and added it as a separate letter on my bundle. I included in it some stories about Apollo from the mythology, but talking in the 1st person, and adding some humor to the text.

Wanted to share the first page with you, hope you like it 🫶🏻

"Greetings, mortal traveler. 

They call me Apollo: god of the sun, poetry, archery, and current captive to your absurd human drama.

My father Zeus trapped me and my twin sister Artemis in this grueling, endless cycle: dragging the sun and the moon across YOUR sky so that YOUR limited days can pass. And to make it more appealing to me, he built me a golden chariot to haul that burning ball of fire, forcing me to redo that stupid chore, over and over again…

I was dutifully steering my golden chariot, minding my own divine business... until the day I made the mistake of looking down, and let me tell you, you little mortals are very entertaining! Watching you became my absolute favorite reality show. You laugh while you cry, you slap each other only to embrace two seconds later, and then—my favorite part—you raise your hands to the heavens with prayers so absurd I nearly drop the sun in laughter!

'Oh, mighty Apollo, strike my enemy with your golden arrow!' Really? Do you have any idea what my arrows actually do? One slip of my hand doesn't just nick your rival, it vaporizes your entire village, your harvest, and three generations of your family line for good measure, along with your enemy's of course! Are you sure that’s what you’re begging for?"
