I'm a junior this year and in these recent cycles I feel like I need to have something noteworthy for my resume in order to actually get into a good college. It's not like I'm ivy bound with a 4.0 uw an 5.0 w but I do okay for someone whose dad passed in their freshman year and they still haven't gotten any therapy for it. I got waitlisted for a program that I wanted to get into and then subsequently got rejected from the summer program I was most excited for after passing into their semi finalist round. I've found another program that I'm around 90% sure that I will be attending but it's significantly more expensive compared to that of the other two ( that being $0 + a stipend vs roughly $10k without spending money ). I'm someone who takes rejection as well as change very badly and honestly these rejections make me feel like I'm not accomplishing anything. Right now I don't have anywhere close to a 4.0, I'm struggling with wanting to go to school anymore and I feel like I won't amount to anything. I see people who I know will make it so far and I think to myself that I won't make it anywhere. I do programs, I participate to the best of my abilities but where will it lead me?

As I was about to apply for this scholarship I happened upon the bios of winners of previous years and it honestly made me not even want to apply anymore. Everyone who won the scholarship has achieved so much more than me, things like starting non profits or raising $50k for the community or doing so much outreach you can't even fathom. It honestly gets to a point where I feel like I won't get into any colleges. I get that I probably will make it to a good place in life but I want to be able to get out of my city I want to meet new people and most of all (not that I'm dogging on it) I don't want to go to a community college. I want to go to school outside of this city and have all the life experiences your supposed to have but sometimes I don't know how I'm supposed to do that when I don't even have a support system or the grades to back it.
