Hoopty S4 Issues

Need some serious DL501 / B8 S4 DSG help here. Car is a 2012 Audi S4 and I’m running out of ideas.

Original issue
P17D400 Mechanical Malfunction.

Symptoms:
- Car drives and moves under its own power
- Feels like clutch slip/confused engagement at times
- Decel feels odd/ heavy decel
- Main pressure adaptation and clutch valve adaptation both abort with “Exited due to reasons of safety”
- Clutch engagement point adaptation completed successfully
- Distance sensor calibration completed successfully
- Unable to get security access code to work
- No trans fault codes currently/Ecu Faults
- Only module code is fuel level sensor open circuit in dashboard module.
- Had AC pressure sensor and fan related faults previously but are now fixed.

What has been done so far:
- Mechatronic unit removed and rebuilt
- New solenoids installed (N435 and N436)
- DSG fluid serviced
- New board and ribbon connector
- Attempted all basic settings/adaptations with:
- vehicle level
- correct temp range
- parking brake on
- seatbelt on
- hood open
- doors closed
- brake pedal applied
- Reset start point adaptation attempted
- New fluid, filters and filter housing as well as O-Rings for oil cooler hard lines
- K1/K2 pressures observed around 0 bar in Park and ~3 bar in gear
- Battery voltage around 13V during procedures

Questions:

  1. Why wont the basic settings run?

  2. Does this sound more like:
    - bad rebuild,
    - pressure issue,
    - mech spacing issue,
    - or adaptation/software issue?

  3. Is there a definitive security access code for DL501/0B5 programming mode? None of the ones i have will give me security access

  4. Has anyone had main pressure/clutch valve adaptations fail while all other adaptations complete successfully?

Trying to avoid pulling the mech unit again unless I absolutely have to. Any insight from people experienced with DL501s would be hugely appreciated.
