Hardware is loose, don’t see anything to tighten. Anyone seen this one?

What is this? It’s out houseplant and usually all indoor plants die. This one is thriving but now need to determine how to trim

This guy slithered next to spot I was standing today. Think it’s been living in my cabinets outside. Was chill, passive with smallish head so assumed non-venomous. King snake? Thanks
