Anyone know what they are doing to Pizza Empire on Empire Avenue? Saw some construction there a few days ago

What is everyone’s thoughts on the review of the Faculties and Schools at MUN? Which programs could they even combine or which programs could be moved? Where would certain programs fit?

Does anyone know if the first lot on water street, across from the Port Authority, was bought? It had a for sale sign there for the longest time but now it’s gone. It would be a great place for a development!

I know it’s wishful thinking, but wouldn’t it be a good idea for the province to try and take over memorial stadium (former dominion location) and use it as the downtown health and wellbeing centre? It had ample parking, conveniently located next to downtown, and has large floor space that can be optimized and allow for multiple floors. It would be much more cost effective than a new building and would allow money to be allocated to a future hospital for the city.

Has there been any updates on the private fertility clinic that is supposed to open in the ambulatory health hub? They announced it last year but can’t find any update.

Does anyone understand how 4 million dollars is supposed to make a difference in the advancement of the downtown health and wellbeing centre? I thought it was supposed to be a large facility, similar to a hospital, just slightly smaller and less services?

Also the 1.5 million dollars for St. Clares planning? That place needs to be replaced. I think 10 billion dollars for the new hospital is a stretch.

Also, there’s various areas in the HSC that are empty since the ambulatory health hub has opened. Why hasn’t the province mentioned plans for these spaces?

The PCs talk about investing in more healthcare professionals, but looking at the budget, they have 11.5 million dollars allocated for just nurses and doctors. Are they not investing at all in Allied Health recruitment? Healthcare professionals encompass a lot more than just nurses and doctors, most of which are essential for NLHS to function. Multiple professions have expressed that they are at their breaking point and the government has not addressed that at all in the budget.
