Competitive offer

Is 10K over asking a competitive offer in the market right now for a townhouse 3 bed 1 bath that still needs upgrades?

Edit: list price is around 270K

Driveway paver recommendations

Can anyone recommend a reputable paving company I could try? I have no idea where to start. Whole driveway needs to be redone as it’s old and cracking and not properly graded. Bonus points if you know a ballpark figure of what it should cost so I’ll know if I’m being taken advantage of. It’s a fairly small, two car driveway.

Thanks!!

At my wits end with the exhaust noise

We have a newborn baby. It's hot out. The windows are open. We're exhausted (pun not intended). We can't rest without getting startled awake by a motorcycle or car with a souped up muffler and it goes on late into the night.

Buses, garbage trucks, planes, helicopters , even the road work happening nearby: it's all present but tolerable. But these ripping and popping mufflers are the bain of my life right now. I am so effing tired.

Why do we tolerate this as a society?

Looking to buy leftover Euros (€)

Hi everyone,

I'm heading to Europe soon and looking to buy some Euros (€) locally.

If you have leftover bills from a recent trip, I’d love to buy them off you for CAD. We can use the mid-market exchange rate of the day so we both beat the bank fees!

I can meet up in the St. John's area. Send me a DM if you have some cash to swap. Thanks!

When Did St. John's become Toronto Prices for Apartments?

Just moved back home from living Downtown Toronto. Was paying 2000 utilities included for a nice 2 bedroom apartment near Davis ville. I moved home with impression that going from Torontos core to Little St. John's would be a huge no brainer, yet im here struggling to comprehend how rent here is on par and especially for downtown St. Johns buildings higher than many spaces in Toronto, the biggest city in the country?!?

The apartments here are far and few between; many are decrepit and 40+ years old with terrible thermal insulation and high utilities in peoples basments.

The apartment buildings here are also lacking, with few avaliable and many being near "project" housing and social supports which unfortunately brings crime and broken windows.

I may just move back to Toronto as it seems like higher quality of living for the same cost.

Am I missing something here? Even in the more rural areas around St. John's the rents are absurd for what you are getting in comparison to the rest of the countries urban areas like Montreal, Calgary, Toronto, ect.

Advise is needed, thank you for your opinions

So Route 29 goes to Signal Hill now?

While looking up information about the new bus stop announcement system, I came across a general managers report back in April that noted the route 29 would go to signal hill. This is very neat but has not been announced anywhere I could find other than just this pdf and the general manage note from April.

Basement Rental Prices

Mostly out of curiousity: I've been seeing rental listing for basement units (usually pretty small) from the newer houses in Kentmount Terrace going for $1800 POU.

I understand it is mostly because of the massive mortgage payments on them, but are people able to afford that at this point?

Just a few years ago, you could get an entire above ground unit for around the same price.

Need to pass time at YYT

hi all, sorry if this has been asked before. my friends and I land around 2am at YYT, but cant check in till 2pm. we've done this before at other airports and usually kill time by napping/walking around the airport. is there much to do/open at YYT during that time? we're gonna try heading to the hotel around 9am just to drop off our bags so we can do stuff downtown, but still have some time on our hands at the airport

our hotel cant accomodate us for an extra day

thanks in advance!
