Which Irvin style jacket should I buy
I started looking a few days ago for an Irvine jacket to buy. I turned at first to ww2 originals, but they turned out to be too expensive and I've heard they are hard to wear for everyday life. I've then turned towards reproductions, but I'm somewhat lost between pre-war, battle of Britain, late war, post war, civilians... Ford someone has an idea of a model/manufacturer that could fit those specs?
For everyday (winter) use, so I want my jacket to be as close as possible to the original while staying comfortable. I would prefer no external pockets but if that's the best model I guess I can live with it.
Out of all the models I've looked, the battle of Britain one seemed to fit my tastes the best but I'm open to everything Irvin looking.
Price : as low as possible (I'm broke lmao), but I can get up to 300-400€ (I live in Western Europe).
I have no problem with buying second hand if it can give the jacket a nice, aged touch. To be fair, the other day I saw a WW2 Irvin that had been repaired with some leather on the back of the right shoulder, and it makes it even better than '' clean '' ones, you really feel like it has lived something.
Completely changing subject, when I asked people around me if they liked it, 50% did and the other 50% had an '' ewww '' (mostly girls, that's funny). Does someone knows why ? (If there are any reasons at all for this 😅)
