I know I need more technical skill but I'm proud of this one
I started as an abstract acrylic/pen artist and have really wanted to tackle more complex forms. I know I need a lot of practice with anatomy and facial expressions but I really like this piece I did. I've always been nervous about sharing my work but decided I need to in order to really get better.
Tips for leading a community meditation
Hi everyone - looking for some tips or suggestions. I've been meditating on and off for the better part of 10 years.
I've started to take my practice more seriously lately and meditate twice a week.
The director of the meditation program asked me if I want to lead a meditation someday, because I've been showing up to the group almost every week for about 2 months. He said there's no pressure but if I find it furthers my own practice, it's something to think about. A different group leader said something similar about a few people in my group, also adding that a lot of people say they aren't ready but she thinks we're ready just as we are.
These meditations are in-person on weekend mornings. Usually there's about 3-6 people. Last week, we did vagus nerve exercises before a silent meditation. We've done multiple meditations from Tara Brach books, as well. The meditations usually are about 20 mins (30 mins for group, a little intro and preamble leaves 20 mins to practice).
There's no pressure to do it but I'd like to give back to my group. I'm partial to Loving Kindness meditation and also "mind like a sky" meditation. Does anyone have any advice/tips or meditation suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
