AITAH: Neighbor Kid won’t stop coming by unannounced
We have a kid in our neighborhood who is in the same grade as my 9 year old daughter. He started coming around sometimes and it was totally fine. He’s a little unsure of social norms because he was homeschooled up until last year (absolutely no shade at homeschool families, you all are champions) I like him and he listens to me when he’s here with my kids. But he just shows up. A lot. And his unannounced or invited visits have gotten more and more concerning. I have texted his mom and asked her to ask or check with us before letting him just pop by. We work from home, have four very vocal dogs, and are all neurodivergent, so unexpected company is not our favorite. She did it once, maybe twice. Now he rides his bike in circles around the block and my house. He hides in my bushes to look in our windows. He follows my husband and my kids to and from school on their bikes and tries to race my kids. This morning they ran a stop sign and almost crashed. If we are running late, he’s waiting. My daughter came to me and said she thinks she might have a crush so my discomfort with his behavior is growing by the day. My kids are being stalked. Am I the asshole?
