Inferno CD in a charity shop

To my surprise today while wearing my listening party Boards of Canada, I saw by chance the Inferno CD in a charity shop for £9.99 without the booklet.

This surprised as it only 3 months since it was released and if it's missing the booklet then surely should be sold at a much lower price 🤣

A Positive Madonna world cup half time show review from Professor Skye

One of my favourite you tube record reviewers, Professor Skye's who normally covers mainly Hip hop but also different other genres with his witty dry positive informative academic lens gave amusing take of the world cup half time show which he titled World Cup Half Time Show: My FIFA Ensh*tification Bingo Card.

During the breakdown he has given by far the best and surprisingly nuanced review of Madonna's performance that I've heard which is refreshing seeing someone outside her fan base give their take on what the art is was without the baggage which Madonna is usually judged with.

A masterclass in marketing from Madonna

Loving the post world cup half time show content that is appearing on the socials via football legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho accounts that in total have over 200 million followers combined and hearing Danceteria being used as the sound to document the behind-the-scenes footage is a genius distribution hack.

It's another masterclass in this highly successful campaign roll out for confessions 2 in using the biggest mainstream sporting event to cross-pollinate the success of the new album across different markets to using her historical hit Music as a Trojan horse.

An iconic song Madonna should sing for the world cup halftime show now we know the finalists

Probably won't happen as she will perform Read My Lips but Madonna would be immortalised in Argentina if she sang this song on the day Argentina won the world cup.

Who spat their drink out when they saw Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro in the Madonna film

Very interesting seeing Madonna's connection with the English football club Chelsea becoming very visible. From attending Chelsea games, recently wearing the new club top before it was released in the Gymskin video and now featuring star Chelsea players Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro in her promo film for Confessions 2.

All this before her upcoming World Cup halftime performance which be probably her most watched event of all time.

It makes more sense after seeing this information.

Barbara Charone: The legendary American PR mogul who managed Madonna's global career is a long-standing member of the Chelsea Board of Directors following the Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly takeover.

This shows how she is cross marketing across different fields from Tic Tok via Gymskin, Pride month, Chelsea, football world cup, Gen Z via the Sabrina feature,

This might go over people's heads who are not into football/soccer and thought the guys taking a pee in the Danceteria segment were just extras 🤣

I'm interested if any Madonna fans have watched the Michael Jackson movie and what they thought of it seeing that see is the closest current artist that relates to him on a contemporary level which is incredible in so many ways.

After seeing the default critics negative reviews but at the same time the high audience scores I decided to watch it after seeing the press junket interviews and being impressed with the cast members especially colman domingo and Jaafar Jackson.

I really enjoyed the film as it was a nostalgia trip. I was young enough to remember the thriller video being this cultural event and Bad being the first album I ever got as a gift so the way the film has been constructed has really tapped into those emotions and was ultimately left feel good experience to watch in a cinema especially to hear those hits via the IMAX sound.

While watching it, I wondered, being a fan of Madonnas music in a deeper way during the 90s and early 00s, would this format translate to her bio pic where it becomes an almost sing a long ? which there has been footage of many screenings of Michael ending up being dance party during and at the end of the credits.

I think it would 💯, not the at times hoky hallmark channel pacing of the film but definitely the reenactments of some of the classic music videos she made and tour performances. .

Warner brothers must be seeing the box office figures this as is a similar demographic of fan base that are part of creating these figure.

Hopefully the mega success of the MJ film will give her some appreciation seeing she is the last of a golden generation of incredible groundbreaking artists from the 80s that influenced the world.

Its amazing and remarkable that Madonna is here making new music when she could be easily be curating her incredible discography
